New Track: Do You Wanna – SIF x SKAE

SIF (Daniel Kelly) and SKAE (Lane Dorsey) delivers a funky dose of 70-esque funk, fused with a salacious lick of laid-back R&B through a brand new collaborative track, ‘Do You Wanna’.

Their latest effort reflects those unsettling moments when you have a crush on someone, wondering if those feelings will be reciprocated.

The pair’s close-knit relationship goes way back to their early childhood. Growing up only one street apart, they quickly became friends and each went on to make their name in the world of arts – SIF starred on Degrassi: The Next Generation, while SKAE became a sought-after portrait photographer, capturing the likes of Johnny Reid and Ria Mae.

After reconnecting in the summer of 2016, the guys realised they had an intense passion for music and wasted no time in collaborating on a few tracks, blending SIF’s sharp hip-hop lyrics with SKAE’s genre-bending production.

The result is a series of songs full of movement and energy, with memorable hooks that would easily dominate the airwaves with slick lyrics as featured in their latest banger….check it out below…

New Track: Depend On Me – Cores (Ft. Maz)

Bringing smooth summer vibes and classic R&B flavours, CORES joins forces with Maz for latest joint ‘Depend On Me’.

Produced by Cores, ‘Depend On Me’ puts a 2018 spin on the Teedra Moses’ 2009 hit single ‘Be Your Girl’. Combining vibrant drum patterns with the mellow tones of Cores and Maz’ silky vocals on the hook, the lyrics detail the peaks and troughs of a relationship and wanting to ‘have your cake and eat it too’. This tongue-in-cheek track does have a deeper layer to it though, exploring the idea of fear in love and relationships.

Having spent the early 2000’s in the influential pirate radio crew ‘Haunted House Production’s’ the producer and emcee is verified in his authenticity. Flash back to Professor Green’s 2006 standout record ‘Upper Clapton Dance’, which featured the man himself, not only on production but laying down the final verse too. Although CORES honed in on his production craft, which awarded him with a string of ground-breaking records including Adamhood from the film Adulthood, Keep Moving by Paloma Faith, Bashy and Adam Deacon (from the 4, 3, 2, 1 movie soundtrack), and most notably as Executive Producer across all of Professor Green’s albums to date, his love and talent for emceeing has always remained burning bright.

After returning to the mic last year with two new tracks as an artist and showcasing his abilities across the board as rapper, producer and mixer, ‘Depend On Me’ showcases his maturity and talent alongside intricately woven beats, high-end sonics and sharp-tongued bars…check it out

New Music Video: All In (Summer Song) – Xav A

XAV A dropped the video to an acoustic feel-good track, ‘All In’,  just in time for the summer season.

‘All In’ documents the moment of finding that soulmate and life partner and imagining what the future holds. The almost three-minute production reflect those moments, featuring the R&B singer, songwriter, and producer all googled-eyed with the significant other.

The New Yorker’s musical mission began in 2011 after being featured on season 3 of NBC’s hit a cappella competition show, “The Sing Off” winning second place during the same season as the well-known group Pentatonix. After performing a rendition of R. Kelly’s ‘Ignition (Remix)’ on the show, XAV A began to harness his artistry as a soloist and strives to revive the more playful side of R&B that was present previously in artists like Will Smith and MC Hammer.

If you never heard of this guy, it’s time to check him out – cos this track and video is soooo cool.
