New Music Video: Wolverine 2 – Zeo Zeonardo

Authenticity fuels Wolverhampton native ZEO ZEONARDO carved his name within the Midlands grime and rap scene. Constructing a unique flow that catapults with scattergun delivery, Zeo turns up the gears and enhances his previously seen capabilities on his latest release, ‘Wolverine 2’.

Detonating through the track at an accelerating speed, Zeo spits over an enchanting loop that echoes through the core of the song. The atmospheric ‘Wolverine 2’, which plays on the name of his hometown and acts as a metaphor for Zeo’s superpowers as an MC, is paired with cinematic visuals set in an isolated desert, courtesy of Kyle ‘Shox’ Brown.

With a steady growth of his fan base over recent years, Zeo’s work as a producer and rapper has been increasingly recognised within the scene. Having recently supported US hip hop artist Hopsin on his Savageville U.K tour alongside Token, he’s worked with established artists over the years such as JME (BBK), DJ Q (BBC Radio 1Xtra), Trilla, Bassboy and TRC. He has also had his music supported and played across local and national platforms, as well as being featured by the UK tastemakers including SBTV, GRM Daily and RWD mag.

Harbouring an eclectic sound that falls on the cusp of multiple genres, Zeo is renowned for his experimental production and flows and ‘Wolverine 2’ is a prime example.

EP Review: Meanwhile: The EP – DayDreamers

As the new year arrive, hip-hop trio DAYDREAMERS have received a trail of hype from their hometown Suffolk, Virginia with their three track EP Meanwhile: The EP.

This neat project gives a sneak preview into what to expect from the uprisers in the forthcoming months. Compared to their previous dub heavy releases on NEW LEASE MUSIC, this EP admittedly has more spice, where each emcee take turns on tearing up the infectious hooks with their slick delivery.

This package may only contain three tracks, but it has A LOT of heat! Check out their EP below:

Must Listen: So Low

Song of the Day: Let It Side – Tee Krispil

TEE KRISPIL steals today’s hotspot with a message for all the lady bosses out there through track, ‘Let It Side’.

The track is about eradicating that fight of inner conflict by going with the gut feeling and be the person you want to be – without being obsessive. In a nutshell the message in this three-minute banger is to let your hair down and Let It Slide.

The accompanied debut video, in Tee words, is ‘as equally bossy as it is silly’, a great representation of the rapper-on the-rise.

Song of the Day: Step Up – Filthy Gears (ft. Wiley, Jammz, Capo Lee & C Cane)

After dropping his debut ‘Filthy Gears’ album, plus singles like ‘See Us MC and ‘Running’, the name FILTHY GEARS has been buzzing around the scene.

His combination of different elements from hip-hop, jungle and garage make for a unique spin on the raw and energy-laden sound that is prevalent across the 18-track release. His continued evolution of grime has made him stand out to both MC’s and DJ’s earning him strong support from the most respected and seasoned names in the game. Featuring a cross-section of emcees from the legendary to the most exciting new talent, FILTHY GEARS features P Money, Wiley, MTP, YGG, Hitman, Jammz, C Cane, Culprit and many more.

Having anonymously produced music for 25 years, recent months have seen the grime master step out of the shadows and into the spotlight, which has remained firmly fixed on him. A rigorous series of free downloads, uploads and MC collaborations has posed the question of whether there’s more than just one person creating such a volume of output, but the dogged determination and quality music leads back to a one man army.
