New Track: Dig Me Out – A Fragile Tomorrow

A FRAGILE TOMORROW have unleashed their new brand new single ‘Dig Me Out, their first release in nearly three years and the first to feature new drummer Josh Kean as well as former drummer Dominic Kelly in his new role as keyboardist.

Featuring rhythmic kinks of guitar riffs, which gives off a real satisfying soulful affair, the four-minute smasher  – mixed by veteran producer Mitch Easter (R.E.M.) – follows their 2015 album ‘Make Me Over’, which features contributions from Joan Baez, Indigo Girls, and Mark Hart of Crowded House.

Before recruiting Bassist Shaun Rhodes, A FRAGILE TOMORROW started out as a family affair, consisting of brothers Sean (vocalist/guitarist/primary songwriter), Dominic (/drummer/vocalist) and guitarist Brendan Kelly.

‘Dig Me Out’ marks the departure of the band’s experimental trademark, shifting to a more rhythmic-centre sound. I think I’ve found a real diamond here and I think you guys will love it…check them out below:

Song of the Day: Love’s On The Way – RĀI

R&B Singer/Songwriter RĀI steals today’s hotspot with his smooth second single from his debut album ‘Love’s on the Way.’

When asked about the Tone Jonez – produced offering, the Harlem NYC resident/South Carolina native said: “That song is just a really good feel good record with a positive message. It’s a song that take elements from different times during the evolution of R&B music and produces what I hope is a timeless, uplifting R&B song. That was my goal with recording this song and the album altogether .”

The A1 Vision-directed visual doesn’t so much reflect the lyrics but stays true to the song – something simple, classic and cool that made you instantly like the song.

This smooth powerhouse is hell-bent on bringing back REAL R&B…so for those who missed the genre, go ahead and check out ‘Love’s on the Way’…and if you’re digging his track, look out for his album, on pre-order on all digital outlets and will be released June 8th.

Song of the Day: Philippines – Nizzie

Matchbox Entertainment recruit NIZZIE steals today’s hotspot with latest track ‘Philippines’. The single is the lead off his forthcoming project MTA and is available now on iTunes.

For the four-minute smooth hip-hop banger is proven to be a hit – the accompanied video cracked up over 100,000 views on YouTube to date.

NIZZIE – whose real name is Chavon Vanias – is no stranger to music business; he is the son of Motown and Island Def Jam A&R veteran Tony Vanias. Despite having strong links in the business, the young artist from South Carolina is paving his own way and is working vigorously to complete finish his album, after he finishes his Entertainment Business Master’s degree later this year.

Look out for this talented newcomer’s album…but for now, check out the popular video for the single,’Philippines.’

South Carolina-based rapper/producer Christopher Lee – better known as CHRI DOLLASIGN by his loyal fans – has dropped his mixtape,  Shit Real under his record label ThaERA Entertainment.

Released earlier this month, this very short (but sweet) mixtape offers some seriously top-notch head-bopping, melodic beats. When you get the chance to sample Shit Real, you’re greeted with the catchy, shoulder-swinging, I Don’t Mind, where this upriser’s vibrant, slightly out-of-time raps (and I mean that respectfully)  completes the track. Message and Footprints offers a more angelic groove which can easily get a load of attention from commercial radio stations. Shit Real finishes on a high with personal favourite Ask For Much, where Chri’s DMX-esque, out-of -beat raps just tops the track.

In just six tracks, this out-of-sight upriser proves that he’s a true contender in the rap game with his well-craft productions…not to mention his out-of-sight raps – can’t wait for the next mixtape! To check out what all the fuss is about, you can check out the Shit Real right here.

Star Song: S.GOLD – Timeless (featuring Azon Blaze)

s gold the stormToday’s song is called Timeless by superfly rapper S.GOLD. This track is the fourth release from his latest much-talked-about album, The Storm. The Storm was named one of the top North/South Carolina releases of 2012.

No doubt the success of the album will continue with Timeless. Produced by South American duo The Columbians, Timeless features that smooth 1990’s inspired R&B/hip-hop/after hours tone – unlike the previous bass-bursting releases- Going Nowhere, Say Hey and Do Whatchu Do (which feature some dope cuts from JERMAINE JACKSON’s 80’s hit Do What You Do).

Watch the video for Timeless and listen to how this artist’s raps just groove into that after hours beat –wicked! If you’re liking this track (and I bet you will), you can head over S.GOLD’s Bandcamp page and check out the album.
