New Track: Falling – Lulu James

Following up new single It’s the Time, with accompanied visual voted Video of the Week two weeks in a row by NEW LEASE MUSIC, LULU JAMES released the second track from taken her new EP – Falling, produced by DJ Simbad.

Her new releases so far have featured work with award-winning producer Ronni Vindahl, who has written and produced albums for MO and Kendrick Lamar, and a collaboration with DJ Simbad accompanied by a remix from Gorgon City.

Speaking of the latest effort, she said: “It’s is a song of power, courage and self-awareness. The words just rolled off my tongue, and it all comes from a very honest place. DJ Simbad pulled the magic out of this track by keeping the beat simple and allowing the vocals and harmonies to shine through. We had a great time jamming sounds, but both felt the most important thing was the self motivational message, that this 21st Century soul track offers.”

New Music Video: Echo – Laskaar

R&B Influenced singer LASKAAR has just unveiled an intensely striking visual to his latest single, Echo coming from his six-track EP Never Met You, released in June.

Upcoming Release: A Place Far Away – Goldsands

GOLDSANDS’ latest single A Place Far Away tells the story of a faded film star’s unlikely bond with a neglected young woman after crossing paths in Tokyo, drawing inspiration from cult classic movie Lost in Translation. Sonically the five-minute masterpiece perfectly captures the size and scale of the movie’s cityscapes, whilst also encapsulating the mood of the relationship between the two characters. Self-produced in a converted apartment in Birmingham, the track was later mastered by Geoff Pesche at the legendary Abbey Road Studios.

GOLDSANDS’ genre-defying sound is most comparable to groups like Radiohead, The Beatles and Coldplay, and is the result of the band members’ eclectic musical backgrounds. Liam’s rock background provides a driving groove, Tom brings a jazz flare, Ramsey takes his cue from the experimental sounds of the 60’s, James gives suitable guitar ambience and Matt is a sucker for a pop hook. Two of the bands members Matt and Tom Rhodes are brothers, adding to the group’s tight sense of synergy. Song of the Day: Promises – Nina Jones

Last time NINA JONES appeared on NEW LEASE MUSIC, she put her spin on Prince’s 80s classic Purple Rain (before his untimely death ), which clocked up over 160,000 views on YouTube.

A year later, the 18-year-old Welsh songstress released her contemporary R&B/pop single entitled Promises. Written by award-winning singer/songwriter Darren Parry, the infectious four-minute production is about moving on from a deceitful relationship – something we all can relate to!

New Music Video: Honey B – Bella Loka

David and Tea Boothby – aka Indie pop duo BELLA LOKA – are back with a music video to their latest single, Honey B. Vocalist and songwriter Tea Boothby, who’s also a filmmaker, created the four-minute magical production.

Recently signed to Dallas/Sheffield-based label DEFDISCO (Public Enemy, Kaela Sinclair from M83, Lovestarrs), the husband/wife team have just completed their debut album The Light, The Mud & The Dark at the infamous Abbey Road Studios working with in-house producers Rob Cass & Pearse MacIntyre (Cave Productions). The album is set for release late in 2016.
