New Track: Nauseous – Nova Moura

Enigmatic artist NOVA MOURA kicks of the year with brand new single ‘Nauseous’, which continues to explore his emotions in love and love-loss.

Commenting on the new single, Nova explains: “I wrote and recorded this track after reaching a certain point in a relationship where I was mentally and emotionally drained. The song focuses on the failing connection between me and this person, but comes more from a place of indifference and disdain. It’s more a song about my excitement of being done with this person.”

Produced by Canis Major and Fla. Mingo, ‘Nauseous’ is available on all major streaming/download sites from New Years Day. Check it out below:

New Music Video: Green Porcelain – Rebecca Phillips

Having recently unveiled the Addison Groove Remix of her latest single, REBECCA PHILLIPS  now revealed the official video for ‘Green Porcelain’.

Filmed on a Google Pixel camera, Phillips explains that “the song and the video both centre around fragility and the feeling of violence that occurs when what is familiar, valued or even treasured becomes unfamiliar and begins to alienate us. The subversion of the ‘domestic space’ was important to realising my vision for the film because what should be ‘homely’ becomes dysfunctional. The film was shot on a Google Pixel camera to give the footage an invasive, voyeuristic and home-made sensibility”.

‘Green Porcelain’ follows the success of Rebecca’s debut single ‘Burnt Peach’ (i-D, CLASH, Resident Advisor).

Song of the Day: Wash – J Appiah

Coming on the back of his previous single ‘Blinding’, which is being supported by Clash Magazine, Earmilk, Hypefresh Magazine and Love This Track, East London singer/songwriter J APPIAH is back with his latest single titled ‘Wash’,  In keeping with his deeply humanistic and personal songwriting, ‘Wash’ is both, J APPIAH coming to terms with the loss of a father he never knew, and a bittersweet meditation on the ‘what-ifs’ in life, with heart-stopping realness.

Speaking about the inspiration for ‘Wash’, J says: “This record is a conversation between a son and his father, and it’s also about spirituality. I wrote this song after a trip to India earlier this year. I came back so inspired by the culture, the colours, sounds, and people, I was just moved to write this song. My dad passed away a few days ago, and I never knew him, but I wrote this song at a period of time when we were trying to get in touch quite a bit after so many years. I guess he knew he was sick and had begun to reflect on life. The chorus of this song is written from his perspective”.
