Song of the Day: Lost In My Dreams – Zab Samuels

‘Lost in my Dreams’ is the first single release taken from the highly anticipated debut album ‘Hope & Light’ from Deep Heads label boss, ZEB SAMUELS.

The track is drenched in delicate pads and low end that give the recording an abundance of warmth, where you’ll hear the Londoner switch from spoken word on the verses and then to singing the choruses. His talents for this offering are on full beam and a joy to immerse yourself in.

Zeb’s music has already been supported on BBC Radio 6 Music, Clash Magazine, XLR8R, Kid Fonque’s 5FM, by Belgium Tastemaker Lefto, Soulection Radio’s Joe Kay and as a producer he has worked with some of the most prestigious names in the music industry. As a label manager, he has released works from Ash Walker, Synkro, Djrum, Escapism Refuge, Lewis B, DFRNT, Congi, Geode, Versa & Rowl and Vivek.

Song of the Day: Bring It All Back – Leanne Tennant

Released via LT Records, ‘Bring It All Back’ is the latest single from LEANNE TENNANT and is the second track off the forthcoming album.

The single opens with palpable energy, a bassline growling beneath punchy drums, before the UK born singer-songwriter’s confident vocals ease into the mix with a calming warmth. Conversational yet poetic, the lyrics describe a frustrating but hopeful exchange between two minds locked in contentious engagement.

‘Bring It All Back’ follows ‘Cherry Cola’ which premiered and gained high rotation on Double J Radio. Leanne has received support from the likes of Rolling Stone, Popdust, Tonspion, Iggy Magazine, AU Review (Australian Artists Of The Year), Atwood Magazine, BBC Introducing Merseyside, BBC Radio 6’s Tom Robinson and Mark Riley, Amazing Radio’s Charlie Ashcroft, Double J Radio and Triple J Unearthed. Her talents have been showcased at a number of festivals, including BIGSOUND and the 2018 Commonwealth Games and she is looking forward to bringing her live sound to the UK in May, 2020.

Song of the Day: Drifting – Escapism Refuge (ft. Zeb Samuels)

Ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce you to ESCAPISM REFUGE – one of the highly promising producers to burst up through Johannesburg’s burgeoning underground scene.

Earlier this month, he dropped an A-side double release, ‘Drifting’ and ‘Misfit’ via the indie label Deep Heads. After much deliberation, ‘Drifting’ was chosen as today’s top track for its floaty and spine-tingling combo of heavy hip-hop-esque drive and the sweet lick of the piano keys.

To date he’s released three hot EPs and won the praise of BBC 6Music’s Gilles Peterson, Soulection and Belgian’s Lefto. He also has a string of high-profile collaborations and a full LP in the pipeline…but for now, have a listen to the irresistibly good ‘Drifting.’
