Song of the Day: I Wanna Dance/Lost Revisited – Heartstreets (ft. Karim Ouellet)

Montreal duo HEARTSTREETS (Gab Godon and Emma Beko) spent years perfecting their craft by releasing a string of critically acclaimed tracks.

The lead single off their 2016 debut You and I EP, ‘Cruising With You’, was an anthem that summer, garnering over 2.5 million streams. Following this success, Heartstreets shared the stage with the likes of Gallant, The Internet, Daniel Caesar, Charlotte Cardin, Busty and the Bass.

Their debut full length album, ‘Why Make Sense’ was released in February. Now, just a few months later, the duo have revamped some of the record’s key tracks on ‘Why Make Sense Revisited 2’.

The latest single/mashup, ‘I Wanna Dance/Lost, is a blend of the duo’s silky, smooth R&B sounds over hard-hitting beats, giving it somewhat a mainstream/likeable feel.

Song of the Day: Cold Naan – R Choppa

The UK rap scene has never been such a hive of cultural influence as it is right now and R CHOPPA delves into his Asian heritage for the release of his latest joint, ‘Cold Naan’.

Bringing an alternative hip-hop flex to the wider mainstream, R CHOPPA delivers ‘Cold Naan’ with a carefree attitude and freestyle flows that feel almost completely created on the spot. His confidence and personality shine through in abundance as he delivers an eccentric, versatile and abstract rap record that is deep with choral chants, thumping drums and emblazoned with the vibrant sounds of India, whilst also managing to make an anthem from the subject of pizza and ‘Cold Naan’.

The record is taken from the recent release of his ‘Animal Behaviour LP’, which is a 17-track project laden with an array of influences making it a refreshing, alternative and interesting playlist that refuses to adhere to the simplicity of mainstream sounds. Blurring the conventional lines is exactly what R CHOPPA stands for whether it be with genre, lyricism or character – he’s not here to deliver a tried and tested recipe that has been here for generations but instead he finely weaves a multitude of flavour to cater to every taste with new, experimental energy.

Making his visual debut with the self-directed and idiosyncratic video, ‘Cold Naan’ is the perfect introduction to R CHOPPA. Packed with fun, character, quirk and everything that goes against the grain of the polished, mainstream, it retains clarity and is a bold statement for the rising young star….

Louis La Roche Will Make You Feel ‘Better’ With Latest Single

Born and based in the UK, producer, remixer and DJ LOUIS LA ROCHE puts a playful spin on the “breakup song” through his latest single, ‘Better’ borrowing the vocals of Lucy Pearson.

Released via his own imprint Ever After Records, the nu-disco meets French House banger isn’t the type of song  to listen to during a breakup;  it’s a song to listen to when you’re ready to go out, dance and release all tensions as you forget about past loves fails. The funky synths permeating throughout maintain the high level of energy required to counteract the somber lyrics. With a rhodes piano solo featured, meeting heavy R&B flavours, the producer has created the perfect take on the modern pop sound.

Louis La Roche

Often compared to DJs, such as Dimitri from Paris, La Roche has previously provided official remixes for artists such as Basement Jaxx, Aeroplane, Lemaitre, Fred Falke and NICOLAAS and received support from tastemaker Youtube channels Spinnin Records, Mr Suicide Sheep, Majestic Casual, and Mr Deep Sense and publications such as Mixmag, DJ Mag, Your EDM, Magnetic Mag and Data Transmission. The British talent has received over 40 Million Youtube views, with his remix for Crystal Bats receiving over 1.8 Million views alone, and over 23 Million plays on Spotify. Louis La Roche has also supported Kylie Minogue on her Kiss Me Once tour, and shared the stage with Armand Van Helden, A-Trak, Aeroplane as well as 2ManyDJs.

Song of the Day: 25 Miles From Vegas – The Tribe Of Good

’25 Miles From Vegas’ is the latest single from Soul/Disco supergroup – THE TRIBE OF GOOD.

THE TRIBE OF GOOD are the secret weapons behind your favourite chart hits. Imagine a present-day version of LA’s Wrecking Crew, if they hung out in Ronnie Scott’s, performed live with Dizzee Rascal and knew their way around a synthesiser. These are the talented artists you’ve heard performing with, or on records by artists as diverse and influential as Stormzy, M.I.A., The xx, MNEK, and Kanye West.

A sprawling supergroup that combines vintage soul and disco with modern production techniques, THE TRIBE OF GOOD are steered by Grammy-nominated producer Hal Ritson (Chemical Brothers, Katy Perry, Duke Dumont, High Contrast). With producers Michele Balduzzi (Phonat – OWSLA), Rich ‘Fiasco’ Adlam (Nas, Cee Lo, Taylor Swift) and Thomas Gandey (Southern Fried, Suara) in tow—alongside a cast of musicians from Basement Jaxx singer Vula Malinga and Jamiroquai guitarist Rob Harris, to Ritson’s long-time drummer Alex Reeves—the group are creating retro-futurist fireworks to light up the pop horizon.

’25 Miles From Vegas’ features the vocals from Daniel Pearce, Elroy ‘Spoonface’ Powell, James Anderson & Vula Malinga (Basement Jaxx), having been produced by core members Rich ‘Fiasco’ Adlam & Hal Ritson. The single continues the groups efforts in the bid to lift listeners amidst times of political uncertainty, yet open their eyes to what is going on in the world.
