Song of the Day: Ziamonds – ATO

ATO claims the song of the day spot for the second time with single ‘ziamonds !!’, which touches heavily on mental health and healing to move forward.

Speaking on the track, ‘ziamonds!!’, ATO says, “I have found the power of the imagination to be vital to rediscovering myself. You can learn a lot from things that are not real. When I wrote “ziamonds !!”, I was in a dark and confused state. The song blurs the line between reality and fantasy. It makes light of living with mental health issues and finds a silver lining to begin painting something brighter and forward-facing.”

A follow up to the experimental, genre-flipped offering, ‘no caroline’, ‘ziamonds!!’ is taken from his new EP, ‘Side A’. Check out the official video below…

Rapper Pharaoh Got1 ‘Kickback’ In Latest Track

Following his appearance on the blog with debut track, ‘Pre season’, which displays his hell-bent determination to break the rap game, Luma Records’ rapper, PHARAOH GOT1 comes through with something a little different…

With guitar plucks giving off an alluring Latin-eques vibes, working alongside the heavy bounce of the b-line, Pharaoh’s second offering, ‘Kickback’, sees the Egyptian-born/UK based rapper taking time out to chillax…but only just for awhile, as there’s more bangers on the way from this slick spitter.

Song of the Day: Rico – AD

Following on from his last single, ‘All Of That’, which gained great traction at the beginning of 2020, AD‘s single ‘Rico’, showcases the Portuguese spitter’s versatility on the track which no doubt leaves the listener hyped and wanting more. ‘Rico’ is an up-tempo, gritty, hip hop track where AD slams down a bold storyline, comparing it to the synopses of the hit film “Paid In Full”, where ‘Rico’ isn’t someone to be trusted.

The Sound Of Modesty Unveils Second Single, ‘Stalemate’

Singer/songwriter Yvonne Han, the brainchild of Leeds-based experimental indie-rock project THE SOUND OF MODESTY unveiled her second single ‘Stalemate’, released last Friday (5th June).

Showcasing a simplistic yet haunting melody and writhing cymbal screeches that slink into the track, ‘Stalemate’ tells the story of a mother and son ravaged by war, as they spend their final night together stuck in silence.

After being in an alt-indie band, ​Once A Week Won’t Kill You featuring on drums, Londoner Yvonne started creating as ‘The Sound of Modesty’ in 2018, developing her own exclusive songwriting style, influenced strongly by not only experimental female artists like Mitski and Bjork, but also electronic pop artists like Egoist and T.a.T.u, whilst crossing over with softer pop such as Sleeping At Last and Regina Spektor.

Yvonne went on to independently release her debut EP; ​Eye, The Cauldron of Morning ​ (2018) which feature her previous soul-stirring single, ​’Metamorphosize’, released under ​Yamcog. Yvonne currently studies songwriting at Leeds College of Music and is currently finishing off her debut album alongside her band for release in 2020.

Music Video: Listen – Vs

Following on from their free download debut single ‘Listen’, UK alt-rock VS return with the track’s official music video.

Official news from the Vs camp confirms that their debut EP ‘Reality?’ shall be available to the public from today.

Drawing upon a myriad of influences spanning across the broad spectrum of rock and metal sub-genres, the Leeds (UK) band promise to deliver melodic hook-lines, guitar driven rock outs and emotive dynamics with their self-released debut offering.
