EP Review: The Clubs – Kiko Bun

If you’re longing for a trip to the Caribbean, I reckon KIKO BUN will take you there in a matter of seconds through his new EP ‘The Clubs’.

Kicking off with a vibrant and psychedelic take on ska with introductory single ‘ Fistful Of Nothing’, the four-track set goes on to featuring reggae that’s reminiscent of the rocksteady era, still obtaining the vibrancy.

I’m going to stick out my neck here: not every musician can successfully pull off reggae-fusion productions, but this north-west Londoner has definitely GOT IT: not only he makes a great contender in the modern reggae music scene, KIKO BUN somewhat pays homage to the legends of the 60s and 70s, such as The Mighty Diamonds, Slim Smith and Bob Marley.

Premiered by DJ Target on BBC Radio 1Xtra as ‘UK unsigned’, the sensual track, which mixes the perfect blend of smooth vocals, passionate lyrics, and pumping bass lines shows the 21-year-old London singer/songwriter power as not only a skilled artist and songwriter, but a powerhouse vocalist whose range and control over carefully crafted production by Jarreau Vandal.

Upcoming Release: Smokestack City – Billow Cloud

Billy Lash – aka BILLOW CLOUD – has a touch of nostalgia, packaged in a spine-tingling new wave pop/rock single entitled ‘Smokestack City’.

New Track: Call Me – Aria

Upcoming pop singer-songwriter ARIA makes a return with single ‘Call Me’. Laced with the atmospheric blend of synths and guitar, the Londoner’s latest offering expresses the letting-go of fear for the sake of love.

ARIA marked her return to the music scene in 2017 with the release of her championed single, ‘Hope,’ which instantly captured the attention and support of tastemakers. Her most recent single, ‘You Got Me Good’ climbed to #37 on Spotify’s Viral Charts in the UK and Ireland, earned its place on Spotify’s New Music Friday UK, and received radio play from Fubar, Hoxton and BBC Introducing.

With ethereally soulful vocals that compliment the arrangements, reminiscent of the eighties, ‘Call Me’, has all the right ingredients to carry on the success of its predecessors…have a listen.

New Music Video: So Cold – Amun

2018, the year of humans being unapologetically themselves whilst the theme of culture takes over all parts of the globe, and from it all, arises a dream from a young, London raised soul.

22-year-old British-Somali singer/songwriter AMUN unleashes the video for her latest single ‘So Cold’ which made its debut via Link Up TV to rapturous comments. Courtesy of the flawless vocals, chic imagery and hazy aura, her plight to share her music in order to inspire is clearly having an effect.
