OUT TODAY: Karen Harding Shares Third Single, ‘Drive Away’

Melbourne’s singer-songwriter, KAREN HARDING is halfway through the release of her four track debut EP, I’ve Got A Secret, releasing a track each month. Released today (9th September), her third single from the EP, ‘Drive way’, speaks to the desire to leave the mess, the difficulties and the current life experience behind and just escape.. or simply Drive Away.

Karen says of her latest single: “It is so easy to get caught up in the busy-ness and routines of life and sometimes we all experience days where it just seems so much easier to run away or escape the life we’ve created for ourselves. ‘Drive Away’ was written when I was experiencing this feeling. It was me, sitting with my guitar, daydreaming about the possibilities of getting away from my covid lockdown restraints.”

Likened to the sounds of Eva Cassidy, Sarah McLachlan and Karen Carpenter, Karen Harding’s music features alluring and ethereal vocals at the forefront, complimented by an instrumental soundscape that will send you soaring within a dreamland of imagination.

Since debuting her first single, ‘I Didn’t Realise’ in May 2021, Karen Harding has won the November 2021 Bendigo Bank sponsored Independent Songwriter Talent Show on Radio Eastern FM in Melbourne, Australia, for her single, ‘Anxiety’, Top 10 winner for the World Songwriting Awards, for her single, ‘Something Special’ and a nominee for Best International Artist on Crags Radio Independent Artist Awards in February 2022.

‘Drive Away’ is taken from Karen’Harding’s four track EP, ‘I’ve Got A Secret’ which is being released one single at a time, each month, and will be available in its entirety by October 2022. The EP is available for purchase at Bandcamp in digital download and CD formats.

Fresh off the back of her latest five-track EP, ‘Pt. 2,’ UK-based artist/songwriter, BETHIA is back with her latest single, ‘Fake Feelings’. The anthemic Pop/R&B track is a chance for her to harness and share her self-empowerment after going through what felt like a “fake breakup.”

KODAE Returns With Vibrant Single, ‘Fractals’

Following their debut appearance on the blog with spine tingling Nu soul/jazz piece, ‘Awake With Crystal Eyes’, back in February 2021, five-piece group K O D A E has totally flip the script on their sound with brand new single, ‘Fractals’.

With featherly light tones and guitar licks injecting some groove into the production, ‘Fractals’ feels like a deep breath. The last couple of years reminded K O D A E of the importance of presence and community and as things have opened back up, many people have fallen into the busy trap of trying to make up for lost time. This song is a reminder of savoring the moment and regaining connection to the world.

Combining a mutual love of modern groove with personal connections to nature and mysticism, With their different backgrounds, each member from K O D A E brings a unique flavour to the table: Annie da Silva’s velvety voice and cutting lyrics, Owen Mcpherson’s gospel roots on the deep five, Seyoung Lee’s lush jazz textures on the keys, Curtis Sauer’s ambitious groove on the drums and Eric Osborne’s fluid harmonies on the guitar.

Doechii Drops ‘She/Her/Black B*tch’ EP

DOECHII‘s first EP for Top Dawg Entertainment / Capitol Records “she / her / black bitch,” includes production from Kal Banx, Hit-Boy, Bankroll Got It and Devin Malik, and is Executive Produced by Anthony ‘Top Dawg’ Tiffith and Anthony “Moosa” Tiffith Jr.

The project cements the Tampa native as a distinct voice whose versatile talents range from quick-fire bars to seductive singing. On she / her / black bitch, Doechii outlines different layers of her life experience: from villainous to confident to soft and sad, and to overall proving that she matters.

“Many times I’ve been referred to as a “bitch” as a way to gaslight me out of certain spaces, something I think many people can relate to in one way or another,” says Doechii. “Lots of people will call you various names for doing something differently.

“So I decided to take ownership of the ‘black bitch’ and title my EP she/ her/ black bitch and reclaim that motherf***ing power,” Doechii continues.” So if you’ve ever been put down for being yourself, just remember you’re powerful and unapologetic- these songs are for you.”

In 2022 the Doechii came out swinging, chosen as an XXL Freshman and tapped as an ‘Artist to Watch’ in Rolling Stone, NPR, Vulture, Complex, Uproxx, Pigeons and Planes, FADER, and more. Doechii performed on both The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and on the mainstage on the BET Awards. She was also chosen as the RADAR US Cover Artist at Spotify; the VEVO DSCVR Artist for June; the BET Artist of the Month; MTV’s Push Artist for July; and Billboard crowned her both ‘Artist of the Month’ and a ‘Queer Game-Changer.’ Doechii’s record “Persuasive” also made Obama’s Summer playlist.

Doechii has dominated since the release of her unwaveringly original EPs—2020’s Oh the Places You’’ll Go, featuring the viral smash “Yucky Blucky Fruitcake,” and 2021’s BRA-LESS. This new release continues a hot streak for Doechii following the brazen “Bitch I’m Nice” the rebellious “Crazy” and the seductive “Persuasive” (which SZA later jumped on).

Expect more unparalleled, genre-bending music from the multi-faceted Doechii, the self-proclaimed ‘swamp princess.’ Check out the bada** EP below…
