R&B Songbird Cheryll Lures Us With Her First Release of 2023, ‘One Of A Kind’

Following on from previous hits such as ‘Crushin’ and ‘Naughty or Nice’, CHERYLL is back with her brand new single ‘One of A Kind’, a sultry joint that’s a must have for a R&B collection.

Taking inspiration from the likes of Mary J Blige, Beyoncé and Aaliyah, Cheryll is a unique blend of powerhouse vocals and 90’s melodies, bringing back the nostalgic vibes of 90’s RnB! London-born singer-songwriter, Cheryll is well on her way to becoming one of the key players in UK RnB, and her new single shows just that.

Cheryll’s music delivers that emotional transparency that appeases the listening ear. Being of Gambian heritage, she has featured in live performances in the motherland and made appearances on many platforms building a core fan base in what she calls home. The soulful songbird is a proud winner of the Fresher of the Year Award at the 2022 State of R&B awards with over 40+ live show performances across the UK. With only one EP released so far – amassing over 50k streams – Cheryll’s place as a musician in the industry has already been cemented and it is only becoming strong.

Juice Cannon Drops His Album, ‘Marriott Hotels.’

JUICE CANNON‘s latest album ‘Marriot Hotels’ is his first full-length R&B project, adopting warm atmospheric glow inspired by 90s afterhours R&B (as featured in ‘Ghost’ and ‘You’), while tracks ‘P Valley’, Ride 4 Me’ and concluding track, ‘Toxic’ bring on the infectious bass-heavy anthems that’s very fitting for creating those party vibes in the upcoming warms months.

Juice enlisted a pretty decent line-up (Anthiny King, Londa B, 3rd Na’ tree) whose vocal performance further evoke the overall comforting feel from the collection.

‘Marriot Hotels’ is Juice Cannon’s first release since last summer, due to a unfortunate situation beyond his control. After grinding for over a decade, building his name within the underground hip-hop scene in his hometown New York City, and gaining an impressive online presence of over 26 millions streams, Juice Cannon was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease, which forced him to take a break.

At the turn of 2023, he bounces right back into the spotlight with a new silky mesmeric sound – a far cry from his previous full-on braggadocious projects.

Steadily coming out of the shadows and into the spotlight from the smooth jazz community, bassist MARK A. WALKER returns with ‘Duke’s Stroll (The Remix). A highly sought-after performance and session musician with the Gospel, R&B/soul and jazz scene, Mark A. Walker has worked with notable artists/musicians, including Gerald Albright, Lalah Hathaway, Maysa, Richard Smallwood and Yolanda Adams.  

Handpicked as a lead musician for the single by Miparis Music Label Executive Michael Upshaw, Mark A. Walker perfectly ignites rhythmic passion in the tribute to the late great legendary George Duke, a highly respected multi-instrumentalist and artist known across multiple music genres around the globe.

For the remake of the blissful jazz instrumental piece, Mark A. Walker is surrounded by a stellar production team, led by Executive producer Michael Upshaw, which features multi Grammy award-winning arranger/ trumpeter Philip Lassiter and Grammy nominated producer Chris “BIG DOG” Davis as co producer/keyboardist.

A true force to be reckon with, Chris “Big Dog” Davis has produced 19 number #1 Smooth Jazz hits and has worked with the likes of Gerald Albright, Will Downing ,Maysa, Phil Perry, Glenn Jones, Chante Moore, Dave Koz, Najee, the late Nick Colionne plus many more. An 11-time Grammy Award Winning horn/string arranger, Phil Lassiter was the former section leader/arranger for Prince and the New Power Generation.

The original version of ‘Duke’s Stroll’ received high praise from radio stations across the UK, claiming the top spot of CHBN’s radio playlist charts for four consecutive weeks as well as receiving firm support from radio stations across UK, including Phoenix FM, Chocolate Radio, Pulse 98.4 and  Sonic Nation with Jeff The Fish.

OUT TODAY: HighCap Drops Debut Single, ‘Shade’.

Singer/songwriter HIGHCAP may be new to the music scene, but his debut single, ‘Shade’ demonstrates he has the lyrical and vocal prowess of a well-seasoned artist who received constant support from major music tastemakers.

On his first ever offering to the world, the 20 year-old newcomer seductively croons over his love interest on a sensual blend of Afro pop/R&B with dancehall undertones.

Born and bred in Nigeria’s capital (Lagos), HighCap (whose real name is SUNNY IDOKO) is the baby of a large family, who initially took an interest in maths and science. From the age of 16, the young prodigy suddenly diverted his passion to music, proclaiming that music found him. From that point, HighCap never looked back.

Being brought up as a devout Christian, HighCap joined his local church choir, which immensely helped him to further hone his craft as a musician. Citing the likes of Justin Bieber, Michael Jackson and Jon Bellion as his main source of inspiration, HighCap has developed his trademark of R&B, pop with the smooth and mesmeric sounds of the Motherland, that’s arguably on par with Afrobeats contemporaries, such as DAVDIO, Joeboy and Adekunle Gold.
