Song of the Day: I’m Hot – The Hoodies

Viral Rap sensations The HOODIES released their EP What Pressure Makes in March of this year. The six-track project served as a prelude to the duo’s forthcoming full-length album Hidden Gems, produced entirely by the legendary Kid Capri.

Now brothers E-Class and Young Poppa tease the album with its lead single ‘I’m Hot’, now available on all digital streaming platforms and stores via Asti Love/EMPIRE. The song showcases the young Upstate New York natives’ impressive wordplay, sharp flows and unrivaled ferocity over Capri’s hard-hitting production and DJ scratches.

“Our new record ‘I’m Hot’ was inspired by the golden era of hip-hop. It’s 50th anniversary of hip-hop so why wouldn’t we bring back that nostalgic boom bap feel? The creation process was incredible. Jovian’s throwback-futuristic debut album, ‘JOVIAN 2000 AD’ was inspired by 70s and 80s sci-fi films

Hailing from New York City, JOVIAN‘s new debut album, ‘JOVIAN 2000 AD’, was inspired by his fascination with 70s and 80s sci-fi films. “I thought about how that alternate future would have sounded and created this body of work with that in mind!” He explains.

The ten-track throwback-futuristic album was first introduced to music lovers around the world with the single, I’m Ready’. The breathtakingly beautiful song was written by Jovian and Kay’vion and produced by Jovian and Blood Cultures.

It was then followed by the infectious “LASER DISCS.” “Laser Discs,” was the perfect alignment as the song came to be exactly when I had decided I wanted my album to be half R&B/80s Synth and half Hip-Hop,” mentions Jovian. “Overall it’s about begging for someone to see your perspective despite them being unwilling to, or maybe incapable of doing so! Despite that, the memories that were shared are still something to hold dear,” he adds.

However, it was the eighth offering ‘Oceans’ that sealed the direction of the album: “Oceans, was the first song I happened to write for the album once I discovered the direction I wanted to take my first body of work! It’s about a plea to the moon. Being in love with something you cannot attain, no matter how much you may desire it,” Jovian shares. The song was written by Jovian and produced by YZ,

From vinyl to digital! Listen To Marcus Machado’s Album ‘Blue Diamonds’

After releasing the critically acclaimed ‘Aquarius Purple’ with Soul Step Records in 2020 and selling out the entire run – MARCUS MACHADO‘s newest effort ‘Blue Diamonds’ is now available on all digital streaming platforms. The album was released on vinyl in May to rave reviews including a feature in the latest issue of Guitar World Magazine.

Marcus was named “Next Young Gun” by Rolling Stone Magazine and since then, Marcus has not disappointed in becoming one of the most in demand young guitar players in the world in both the studio and on the road. Recently, Marcus has collaborated on the music score for the documentary “Mr. Soul.” Marcus also was requested to play the national anthem in Madison Square Garden for the NY Knicks as well as Oracle Arena for the Golden State Warriors.

Marcus has grown in notoriety through his work with Th1rt3en with Pharoahe Monch and Daru Jones. He has also been featured many times in print as well, earning rave reviews in Guitar World and Guitar Player Magazine.

Fans who enjoyed the adventurous sounds of ‘Aquarius Purple,’ will certainly enjoy the growth demonstrated on ‘Blue Diamonds.’ It is deep and soulful R&B listeners can take a trip with. Marcus delivers again another set of funky and soulful jams. Song of the Day: Long Distance – Suave n Thick

Influenced by artists such as 50 Cent, Michael Jackson, Cardo, and Kaytranada up-and-coming American Hip-hop act SUAVE N THICK‘s latest single, ‘Long Distance’ is dripping with style and ease.

Featuring a delicious funk bass reminiscent of old school g-funk, the beat and flow give off a distinct Nate Dogg and Warren G vibe. The duo effortlessly combines elements of R&B and Hip-Hop to craft a delectable track with solid storytelling and lyricism, focusing on the feelings we all feel when falling for someone, and how that love grows stronger in their absence. It’s a song with a little bit of everything for anyone, combining elements of west-coast hip hop with pop for a dash of mainstream sensibility.

Suave n Thick’s shared passion for music developed into a deep desire to create their own sound. Growing up in Brooklyn, essentially one of the Hip Hop capitals of the world, the childhood friends knew they had to create something to contribute to the artistic landscape. What originally started as a hobby developed into a craft the duo have been honing for years, giving off vibes and sounds similar to Blxst, Larry June and G-Eazy.

Song of the Day: This I Miss – Anabella Paige

NYC based singer-songwriter ANABELLA PAIGE‘s sophomore single ‘This I Miss,’ a timeless pop offering which takes form as her own version of a love letter. Produced and co-written alongside Henry Bloomfield, the track’s production samples The O’Jay’s ‘A Prayer,’ boasting heavenly strings and soulful piano licks that evoke a warm sense of nostalgia.
