Upcoming Release: Smokestack City – Billow Cloud

Billy Lash – aka BILLOW CLOUD – has a touch of nostalgia, packaged in a spine-tingling new wave pop/rock single entitled ‘Smokestack City’.

Reminiscing on Summer holidays in the midWest of the United States as a child, the Londoner penned the single at his Streatham home, paying homage to the industrial city of Gray, Indiana. The accompanied visuals show the footage of the city and Warren Dunes in Michigan, taken on a family vacation.

Over the last year, BILLOW CLOUD has been a regular on London’s gig scene, and is set to perform this Saturday at Kensington’s Finborough Arms in London .

New Track: Call Me – Aria

Upcoming pop singer-songwriter ARIA makes a return with single ‘Call Me’. Laced with the atmospheric blend of synths and guitar, the Londoner’s latest offering expresses the letting-go of fear for the sake of love.

ARIA marked her return to the music scene in 2017 with the release of her championed single, ‘Hope,’ which instantly captured the attention and support of tastemakers. Her most recent single, ‘You Got Me Good’ climbed to #37 on Spotify’s Viral Charts in the UK and Ireland, earned its place on Spotify’s New Music Friday UK, and received radio play from Fubar, Hoxton and BBC Introducing.

With ethereally soulful vocals that compliment the arrangements, reminiscent of the eighties, ‘Call Me’, has all the right ingredients to carry on the success of its predecessors…have a listen.

New Track: Good Girl – Gena Perala

GENA PERALA releases a haunting new single and visuals for ‘Good Girl’ today, which marks the new chapter in her musical journey – and the departure from her last album (Exactly Nowhere, 2014): Perala trades in her piano for a synthesizer and a drum machine. The result is a synthed-up, down-tempo production that flirts with pop elements.

With a voice that is both heartwarming and chilling, Perala creates a style all her own – soft yet strong. “The song is about an abusive relationship and ultimately how every day my friend stayed in this relationship, it was killing her,” Perala explains. “But it’s important to understand how complicated and wrapped up in our past these situations are, so the song is also about the enabling that went on with the abuse and then my own helplessness and anger around men fucking with women, especially when those women are my best friends.”

The accompanied visual is an eerie depiction of the artist floating in water surrounded by darkness and at times drowning. Dancers writhing underneath fabric represent the relationship eliciting visuals as unnerving as they are interesting.

‘Good Girl’ is the first of a string of releases Perala plans for 2018, with long-time producer Chris Gestrin – so expect some intensely honest lyrics that will take you on a journey through a seamless fusion of genres, creating dark melodies.

New Music Video: Make Circles – Croatia

Canadian synth pop group CROATIA makes an entry on NEW LEASE MUSIC with a brand new music video to their latest single, ‘Make Circles’.

Boasting a stunning fusion of soft electronics and synthed-up pop, the four-and-a-half minute release embodies their heavy influence of the 80’s. Frontman Justin Campbell’s memersing vocals perfectly glides along the hazy combo, adding that magical and spine-tingling sensation.

‘Make Circles’ is the first single from their forthcoming EP, ‘Half Dreams’, set for release in the spring. In the meantime, check out the equally hazy visuals to their newest offering (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED)

New Music Video: 5000 Miles – Lui Hill (Fye & Fennek Remix)

Since releasing the powerful single in early November, ‘5000 Miles’ has been featured in multiple Spotify playlists such as Young & Free, Viral Hits, USA Top 50, and New Music Friday. In December, the track was added to the Apple Music Today’s Chill playlist.

Now the 5000 Miles Fye & Fennek remix is available, offering an interesting interpretation of the original. FYE & FENNEK, the young and extremely talented Filter Music Group producer, has created an ambient sound that flows seamlessly with LUI’s husky and smooth vocals. Their style compares to Swedish electronic music duo, The Knife and creates an innovative synergy with LUI who draws inspiration from artists like Bon Iver to Kendrick Lamar.

The accompanying music video by director Christoph Varga continues the story of the first, offering a new chapter with a darker, more abstract visual…hit the play button!
