Star song: Flashback – Malynda Hale

Malynda Hale - oranges Today’s song is Flashback from Californian born R&B- pop singer/songwriter MALYNDA HALE.

This lady has achieved so much I don’t know where to begin! This powerhouse singer penned her first song at the age of nine – from that point, she never looked back.  In 2012 she released her album The Train Ride Home, which received raving reviews from music critics – and got her a deal with Soul Shine PR agency. Her songs from the album Blue Eyes, City Lights, In Love and Crazy Inside were included in the Crucial Music Catalogue, a music licensing company which place songs in Oscar-winning films, Emmy-award winning television shows and national commercials.

No doubt her latest single will be added to her impressive CV. Recorded for the upcoming  film Oranges (by CradeMade Entertainment) Flashback, offers three and a half minutes of smooth R&B infused with pop, which is topped off with Hale’s heavenly and controlled vocals (which puts me in the mind of HEATHER HEADLEY!)

Come on, listen to Flashback. Does MALYNDA HALE sound like HEATHER HEADLEY? Answers below please! Like me, if you’re in love with Flashback, it’s worth visiting iTunes to check out her full discography.

Star Song: Richie Ashwin –Eyes On Me

Richie Ashwin - All Eyes On Me

RICHIE ASHWIN is back with another stunning production, Eyes On Me.  Last month, I had the pleasure of reviewing this British R&B artist’s self-titled EP, which are 5 tracks of atmospheric R&B with a little dubstep and hip-hop/trip-hop.

Produced by Anthony Young, Eyes On Me feature that trademark of atmospheric R&B, where this talented Londoner switches from smooth vocals to an even cooler freestyling – what a treat!

Here’s your chance to listen to Eyes On Me. Have you heard his debut EP? If not, get your skates on and listen to it here.

Star Song: Hawaiian Thought$ – IMNAMEDKYRA

Kyra Hawaiian nightsFirst of all, I have to say that this is one HOT chick! Let me introduce you to IMNAMEDKYRA – a Maryland –native female rapper (who you should sit up and take notice of) – and her latest single Hawaiian Thought$. This track just displays the extraordinary talent of this promising artist. Hawaiian Thought$ is definitely a standout production as it begins with chopped up beats (which sounds like a stuck CD) and then you’re introduced to IMNAMEDKYRA’S freestyling which effortlessly cruises throughout the chill out track – absolutely wicked!

Heavily influenced by A TRIBE CALLED QUEST and CURREN$Y, IMNAMEDKYRA whose real name is Akyra Hedgman – was part of a Pittsburgh-based group called THE H&T. Now residing in Atlanta, IMNAMEDKYRA is now looking to expand as a solo hip-hop artist. She’s planning to release her mixtape, The Drive very soon – so keep your eyes peeled for a review!

Go on, have a listen to Hawaiian Thought$. If you’re really loving this sound, head over to SoundCloud where you can listen to more of IMNAMEDKYRA’S tracks. Before I sign off, may I recommend one more track Geronimo? Man, it’s too good for words!

Star Song: TheWeatherMan – MossBurn

MossBurn

Today’s song is TheWeatherMan by West Michigan rapper MOSSBURNTheWeatherMan is the latest single from his mixtape, You Already Know What It Is – Volume One. This track shows that this guy is not playing – he’s definitely on a mission! With a rolling bass line that oozes pure groove and confidence (plus this hip-hop artist’s on-point rapping), TheWeatherMan has all the components of becoming a chart-topping single!

Coming from a deprived area won’t stop MOSSBURN (which is an internal acronym for “Minorities Oppressed Still Strugglin Blacks Uniting Real Niggas”) from making it to the topjust like fellow Michigan famous rappers, EMINEM, MC BREED, THE DAYTON FAMILY and KID ROCK.

Star Song: Breathe Audio – All My Sins

Breathe Audio

Today’s song is from Jack Bicknell and Nick Proudlock, otherwise known as BREATHE AUDIO. The British duo started out in late 2012, bringing their very unique infusion of indie pop and electronic and perhaps a little soft rock to the scene. Their signature sound was well-received as in their short existence, the indie act was fully booked for live shows around Manchester.

In February, they released their uplifting 80’s inspired pop track Born Again available on SoundCloud – and there’s no stopping BREATHE AUDIO as they churned out another equally uplifting indie pop/electronic creation, All My Sins. So what’s the next for these guys? Well they’ve locked themselves away in their ‘home studio’, writing and producing incomparable productions – and the plan is to release a single every six weeks. So maybe there’s an album in the pipeline? That depends on you! Go on, show your appreciation and have a listen to All My Sins – because good original music starts right here!
