New Track: Hold You – Sophie Longshaw

As a follow-up to her ’emotive and stunning’ debut single releases in 2016 – which include ‘In The Morning’, ranked #8 on NEW LEASE MUSIC’s Top Ten Songs of 2016 list, 20-year-old singer-songwriter SOPHIE LONGSHAW returns with ‘Hold You’, a beautiful and soulful acoustic electronic track recorded last summer.

The London-based student’s amazing voice attracted attention last autumn when her melancholic cover of Muse’s ‘Supermassive Black Hole’ crashed Gigwise. After signing to TWIN, her debut AA single ‘In The Morning’ and ‘Let’s Go To The Beach’ became Editors Picks and gained very positive reviews from many indie playlists and ezines.

Produced by TWIN founder and BAFTA nominated composer/producer Chris Mann, Sophie’s unique stripped back and emotional sound is built around her vocals. Influenced by a range of artists such as Noah and the Whale, Lianne la Havas, Elbow and Lucy Rose her downtempo blend of indie and pop has been compared to Birdy, Lorde and Adele.

Go on, have a listen.

Four-piece act CHERRY WHITE unveiled their first single in over a year, coming in the form of ‘Say My Name.’

Draped in strong elements of brooding bluesy rock, the perfect build up to the mind-blowing soulful vocals, ‘Say My Name’ serves as a platform for anyone who feel powerless to voice their opinions, whether it’s in the workplace or at a place they suppose to call home.

Their rock bluesy trademark earned them various live spots, including Planet Rockstock festival in Wales and White Trash in Berlin. Recently they chalked up their 200th gig with a show at London’s legendary 100 Club, cementing their reputation as one of the UK’s premier up and coming rock bands.

EBSON makes a return with a powerful soulful effort entitled ‘Red’. His debut single ‘Adapt to Thrive’ – once named Song of the Week by NEW LEASE MUSIC – received support from tastemakers including Indie Shuffle and The 405, praising the alternative soul newcomer for his emotive blend of blues and soul.

With his unmistakably London sound, taking influence from the city around him, EBSON tells a tale of courage within a relationship, and finding the strength to leave. The latest effort rises and falls as the story sweeps through a battlefield of love and sin. With a sweeping cinematic feel and haunting piano, music builds to marching drums as the story reaches its crashing crescendo.

‘Red’ was produced by Charlie, who also recently produced Jorja Smith’s EP. It was mixed by Grammy nominee Alex Evans.

EBSON will release a debut EP in 2017…but for now, get a taste of his upcoming project and listen to ‘Red’.
