Song of the Day: Trust Me – Analise

ANALISE is an 18-year old singer-songwriter with the world at her feet. The New England born folk-pop songstress has been fixated on writing and the different forms it can create, and has been officially releasing music for two years. Three releases to her name already, including ‘Rooftop’ has gained a lot of traction on Spotify alone, surpassing the 100k mark, showcasing Analise’s talent at still such a young age.

Highly influenced by the likes of YEBBA, Daniel Caesar and Dijon, Analise pulls in those artists and draws her own lines in her potent songwriting. Co-working and producing on all releases so far, she now returns in 2022 with the beautifully stripped back single ‘Trust Me’. Taken from her debut EP set to be released alongside, she was recently accepted into the renowned Berklee College of Music, where she has been perfecting her craft.

Acoustically driven and melodically flowing from the off, ‘Trust Me’ is both vulnerable and shows a real authenticity to Analise. Her vocals take centre stage in this one, and are simply breathtaking as she ebbs and flows through the track, picking out melodies that are way beyond her years. She immerses you into her dreamy folk-pop atmosphere, and the production from Doug Holzapfel (Jesse McCartney, Akon, The Outfit) shines through in this minimalistic yet powerful offering.

An all encompassing artist at still such a young age, ‘Trust Me’ is yet another example of why Analise is going to be one of the breakout artists in 2022.

Analise says that ““Trust Me” is a song built on emotion. This song highlights the complexity that lies in young love – trying to understand our growing selves while trying to give ourselves to someone else. It can be so encapsulating to love and to be loved at such a vulnerable time that when it ends, we can feel very alone.

It’s easy to take that sadness and manipulate yourself into thinking the other person doesn’t care or feel the same. But when you connect so closely with someone else like you do in young relationships, feelings might go away – but that care doesn’t. “Trust Me” is about failing to align and wanting to be there for someone who won’t let you.”

OUT TODAY: Rising Artist JVSTN. Shares Genre-Bending Single, ‘LOST & FOUND’

With his new single, New York-based pop artist JVSTN. continues his journey into a synthy, sample-based pop sound, but this time experiments with Hip Hop and Psychedelic elements. After the successful release of his first original song earlier this year, JVSTN. is excited to build his discography with another ethereal creation.

Out today, ‘LOST & FOUND’ started when he attended the Governor’s Ball music festival in NYC 2021, his first festival since the beginning of COVID. JVSTN. wanted to capture the feeling of looking around the crowd and seeing lovers kiss, friends smile, and strangers groove to the same beat. He cuts these dopamine-heavy emotions with more depressive and anxious thoughts in the verses and bridge to build up to a psychedelic explosion in the song’s third act. This song was co-written with his longtime writing partner and friend, Charlie Aldrich.

‘LOST & FOUND’ follows JVSTN.’s previous well received offering, ‘Dancing With The Enemy’, an euphoric formula of layered sampled vocals, trip-hop-like beats and an elegant topline. The Brooklyn-based pop hero manages to deliver a track that will appease not only big playlists and radio outlets, but also listeners on the edgier part of the spectrum, effectively bridging the gap to art-pop.

‘LOST & FOUND’ is out today on various music platforms… Check out the official video for the single below…

Listen To Joeyglo’s New Single, ‘Lovely Lady’

Hailing from Nashville, singer-songwriter, producer, and audio engineer JOEYGLO shares his new single ‘Lovely Lady,’ which references the importance of making women feel validated, worthy and enough.

Although women are breaking boundaries all the time, Joeyglo says, “This world would be nothing without a woman or a girl.” “Lovely Lady” represents the prominence of well-deserved women. “The song is about the first moment the protagonist meets a woman and just has to know every little detail about who she is and wants to spend every waking moment with this special human,”

While blending genres and giving a fresh sound to the electronic-pop and hip-hop scenes, the track drew inspiration from “the givers of life,” says Joeyglo. “I wrote this song to be fun and flirtatious while not making women feel sexualized or unappreciated for who they really are as people,”

In Joeyglo’s career, his influences have had a powerful impact on his creativity and have even drawn comparisons to Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic, Justin Timberlake, Pharrell Williams, and Jeff Buckley. The style and sound of his storytelling translated into lyrics are on the rise as he furthers himself in the limelight as an artist.

‘Lovely Lady’ was released last Friday (9th September) for your pleasure. Have a listen below…

Listen To Diamond D’s Latest Album, ‘The Rear Window’

“Wow, this guy [Diamond D] is one of the all time greats,” Chris Rock professes on the opening track of D DIAMOND‘s latest album, ‘The Rear View’. That statement isn’t so much of a stretch when considering a legacy that helped architect a sound, bridge regions in Hip-Hop and launch the careers of other all time greats like Fat Joe,  Big L, Big Pun and DJ Khaled. Released on all digital streaming platforms via Dymond Mine Records/EMPIRE, The album Diamond D’s ode to both his own legacy and resilience.

Considered the best producer on the mic by his contemporaries and critics, the hip-hop legend explains the meaning behind the 15-track release: “Whatever you did in the past, honor and respect it, but always move forward. I don’t want to [harp on] what I did twenty years ago. It doesn’t mean I don’t respect or acknowledge it, because it’s all made me who I am today. The title of the album ‘The Rear View’ means to always look back, but focus on where you’re going… What’s in the rear view should stay there. Going into recording this album, I wanted to show why I’m considered one of the best producers on the mic who rhymes with his own pen. I also want listeners to appreciate my growth as a producer and artist who came on the scene in the early ’90s, and is still here consistently producing and putting out new music today.”

Arriving a month short of the 30th anniversary of Diamond D’s 1992 classic debut Stunts, Blunts and Hip Hop, ‘The Rear View’ serves as Diamond D’s sixth full-length solo album and follows his 2021 collaborative album Gotham with Talib Kweli. Guest features include De La Soul’s Posdnuos, Westside Gunn, among others, while heavyweights such as Nottz, Aftermath’s Focus…, and more assist with the album’s production.

So it’s time to check out the album below…(hint, not to be missed!)
