EP Review: Further Away: Melanie Crew
It’s been a little over a year since MELANIE CREW appeared on NEW LEASE MUSIC with her debut EP Until The End, which received airplay on BBC Radio 6 and BBC Kent. Now she’s back with her second EP, Further Away, released beginning of this month.
The London-based singer/songwriter reunites with her old faithful acoustic guitar, creating that rich, folky sensation and adds some soulful and sultry spice to her usual sweet and (respectfully) girl-like vocal range.
With therapeutic and occasionally soft uptempo soundscapes, Further Away EP is the perfect bet to start the week on a soothing note – after a rowdy weekend.
Must Listens: Ghost, A Hundred Words, All That I Want.
New Track: Sunshine – District 11
DISTRICT 11 duo, singer/songwriter Melinda ‘Mel B’ Burns and producer Isaac Reid, released a brand new single entitled Sunshine.
The almost three-minute hypnotic smoothie documents the account of inspiration as the story is told on top of pleasing instrumentation, making it easy for listeners to experience a palpable sense of hope and optimism throughout the entire song. Forms the initial spark to the last note, the Michael Jackson -esque lyrics embody a calm tranquil energy that carries raw emotion through every measure.
So it’s time to iron out your stress…have a listen to Sunshine.
New Track: At Night – Liz Elias (Ft. Flo Rida)
Nickelodeon’s singer / actress LIZ ELIAS joins forces with Flo Rida for her new single, At Night. Using a sample from the Ghost Town DJ’s, My Boo, the smooth banger is her first release since signing with Ted Lucas’ (CEO of Slip-N-Slide Records) new imprint, 305 Music and his partnership with Atlantic Records.
The promising performer from Florida found her passion for acting and singing at the age of 5, taking acting/dancing classes at several local companies. Didn’t take long, as she started developing her passion for the arts and wanted to pursue a career in acting and singing.
In 2013, she scooped a guest star role on the web series, Hit Streak, as Lourdes, directed and produced by Eric Foster, before landing the role of Mia, on Nickelodeon’s award winning show TV-series, Every Witch Way in 2014.
Now 2016 sees Liz taking her singing career to new heights by working with 305 Music and Atlantic Records with this brand new project, which showcases her unbelievable vocal range – go and check it out!
