Long Island rapper KALI MAC is more than ready to show his worth in the hip hop game – to his haters (and put the island on the map – his words!) – through his latest mixtape, The Underdog 2, released earlier this month.

This 13 track production features the beat-swinging Hello, the perfect introduction to what this upriser is made of. It gets better with super smooth track Smoke Sum’n where his slow-motion, doped up raps speeds up at a switch of a light. This laid back/sped up raps continues (coupled with determined lyrics) in another equally super smooth angelic Before I Die– #mustlisten. The Underdog 2, hypes up with the electrifying track All We Got and returns to the smooth, old school/kick-off-your-shoes-and-relax-your-feet beats with the track Last Breath.

With this mixtape, KALI MAC shows that he’s no underdog – but that’s just my opinion. What you think? Well check out The Underdog 2 right here.

Review: L.O.V.E – D Scales

D scales LOVE

1. Beautiful
2. Fallin’ in Love
3. Let Me Love You
4. So Far Gone
5. Vain
6. Perfect Lady (Feat. J5)
7. Real Love

Hands up if you really miss that real old school R&B? Come on, raise does hands right now – I know there are thousands of you out there (me Included!). Well I have a real treat for you: let me introduce to you D.SCALES and his latest EP L.O.V.E (short for Language Of Various Emotions).

Released last month, this seven-track album featured some seriously slick after hours productions in which the multi-talented artist from Alabama perfectly delivers heart-melting lyrics in that coca-rich classic soulful vocals. Beautiful, Fallin’ In Love and Vain are an absolute must listen for all you R&B heads, as they are strictly for the bedroom department (if you know what I mean!?!). After listening to L.O.V.E, D.SCALES puts me in the mind of a young BRIAN MCKNIGHT.

This is a little short for a review on NEW LEASE MUSIC, but with some EPs, the music speaks for itself – and this is one of them. So before you log off, listen to one of the tracks from the album, Vain. #Stunning!

L.O.V.E is available for purchase on iTunes.

TWANDOE is the next best thing with his label Serve Camp Entertainment. Taking  underground hip hop by storm, he uses heavenly laid back, car hopping beats with (at times) electric-effect raps. Electronic-effects raps? Well have a listen to his 16-track mixtape, Lingo Crazy, released this month.

Such electronic raps, are featured in Back  To The Basics, Trust No Nigga Trust No Hoes and Today Is A Good Day. These tracks feature angelic/heavenly melodies and with the full-bodied and rough raps, somehow they all make good listening.

I Neva Fuk Wit Lamez is definitely the one to listen, as this smooth spaced out production features layers upon layers of awkward, slightly-out-of-time raps in the chorus. This track just shows why he’s such a big hit in the underground hip hop scene.
