New Music Video: Lurks At Night – J Fresh (ft. Yus)

The latest record to drop from the well-received ‘Fruit Salad’ album, J FRESH calls in Yus for ‘Lurks At Night’.

With a sharp-looking visual, that dropped on JDZ Media, and a bassline heavy instrumental, Yus sends out a stream of rapid fire and reload bars. The J Fresh production is a shining example of his skills as he sparks off Dizzee’s ‘I Luv U’ mix with a quirky concoction of garage, bassline and a nod to Artful Dodger x Craig David classic, ‘Rewind’.

Making his producer debut in early 2017, J FRESH has shown commendable determination to solidify himself within the scene. The release of his two E.P’s and his album have proved for continuous growth and recognition, seeing his music premiered with the likes of DJ Target at BBC Radio 1Xtra, picked up for BBC Radio 1Xtra’s ‘Introducing’ list and heavily supported across Kiss FM and Capital Xtra.

His ‘Fruit Salad’ album features a host of collaborations and contributions from the likes of DJ Target, Charlie Sloth, DJ Olos, Godsgift, Monkstar, DJ Ironik, Lady Ice, Predz UK, ShaoDow and Serocee making it an action packed, 15 track combo of dynamic production skills and talent.

New Music Video: Hype Like Supreme – Sub Blue

Electronic soul/ R&B newcomer SUB BLUE released a visual to accompany new single ‘Hype Like Supreme’.

Speaking of the new production he says: “The aim here was to simply show the blurred lines between hype and true love. It’s another flip on the chorus lyrics. This culture is real – its pretty much the same level of infatuation and emotion that you would usually equate to love or a mad crush”

‘Hype Like Supreme’ is the first track taken from his new EP, out in 2018. It was produced by British soul artist and producer XamVolo.

SUB BLUE grew up in the suburbs of Merseyside in the North of England. He was named the first ever ‘One to watch’ by Liverpool International Music Festival’s Academy, he was just leaving school at the time. Since then he’s been honing his sound with local talent including XamVolo, Teesoulful and SPXKEN and putting the final touches to his debut EP.

Hot off the heels of two sold out shows in London and L.A., West London native HOLLIE COOK  unveiled more from her forthcoming third LP by dropping the double-A single ‘Freefalling’ / ‘Survive’.

The tropical pop princess has already cemented her position as one to watch this year after signing to the American indie label Merge Records and releasing the lead single ‘Angel Fire’. The first taste from the album received rave reviews from international outlets ranging from Mass Appeal, Clash and Je Ne Sais Pop and was playlisted over the summer on BBC Radio. Her vibrant, spirited take on lovers rock radiates positivity, allowing her to transcend the confines of a genre.

‘Freefalling’ finds Hollie’s sultry vocals positioned against a skanking rocksteady beat, alluring synths and a crooning brass section. Despite singing of the intricacies of heartbreak an unwavering sense of bliss prevails throughout.

As well as touring the world for years with Ari Up in the pioneering female punk band The Slits, Cook previously collaborated with renowned dub producer Prince Fatty on her first two solo albums – the self-titled debut and the acclaimed follow-up ‘Twice’.
