Coventry-based rapper, singer and songwriter, ICEY STANLEY returns to the blog’s Song of the Day top spot with his latest single, ‘Summers Over’.
Maintaining an upbeat and laid-back melody as we enter the cold winter months, ‘Summers Over’ has created major buzz on social media and in his hometown since its release late last month.
Icey’s latest offering follows his single ‘Someone’, released back in July and EPs: ‘Mid Summer Drip 2’ – released with Birmingham’s Mr Macee in August – and ‘Still No Love In February’, released in February. His firmly established position in the Coventry hip-hop scene has led him supporting UK artists including JME, Fuse ODG, Meridian Dan, Big Narstie, Lady Leshurr and Devlin on stage.

Molly’s latest offering opens with the soft trickle of piano keys and laid-back R&B melodies, while Stockholm-born songstress’ smoky vocal captivates with unwavering honesty about the ongoing struggle of chasing her dreams. Molly’s powerhouse vocal gradually builds to give an air of someone who has truly found herself.
“I’m so tired of not being a superstar” Molly quips with a twinkle in her eye. “I said that to my songwriters, and that’s how ‘Shortcuts’ was born. “Shortcuts” is about all the shortcuts you can take towards fulfilling your dreams and the struggle I think everyone faces when you have big dreams and want to achieve them. All the pressure that comes with it, the frustration, the longing. I’ve learned that taking the long road always pays off in the end, if you want something that’s gonna last. Both career wise and in life. It’s a frustration anthem in the most beautiful way.”
Co-written with Professor P (Avicii, Daniel Adams-Ray) and produced by PARO (Dua Lipa, Alicia Keys, Paloma Faith), ‘Shortcuts (I Can’t)’ follows huge singles ‘No Place Like Me’ featuring Big Narstie, ‘WORDS’ and her summer hit ‘Show Me’ with Kim Cesarion, which have collectively garnered widespread media support across the UK and globally from the likes of BBC Radio 2, BBC 1Xtra, Channel 4, The Line of Best Fit, Complex, NYLON and Idolator.

MOLLY HAMMAR grew up with jazz musician parents and Kim Cesarion has a background in classical music, but it is through their shared love for R&B and pop that they found each other musically. Kim Cesarion had his breakthrough in 2013 with his debut single ‘Undressed’, a track that has amassed more than 24 million YouTube views. He returned last year with the EP ‘Bleed’ from which the lead track had its world premiere on a plane to SXSW in Austin.
Previous singles from Molly’s hotly anticipated second EP have garnered widespread media support across the UK and globally from the likes of BBC Radio 2, BBC 1Xtra, Channel 4, The Line of Best Fit, Complex, NYLON and Idolator.

Establishing his roots within Coventry’s Hip Hop scene, ICEY STANLEY garnered initial attention via his local music community.
