Song of the Day: Love Me Leave Me – K Harrison

Rising wordsmith K HARRISON is next up to bat in the UK rap arena. Despite only having a couple of tracks under his belt — he’s already been co-signed by Compton rap titan The Game and worked side-by-side with the nation’s favourite redhead Ed Sheeran.

With superstars in his corner and two summer anthems in the air — ‘Fire Fire’ and his seismic debut ‘Boss (Call Away)’ — which both collectively accumulated over 220,000 streams on Spotify alone – K Harrison is back with a fresh hit in the making titled ‘Love Me Leave Me’.

Selecting a sultry sound pool once again, K Harrison deploys his nocturnal, pop-friendly delivery across a bulk of the runtime, before changing gears to his rapid-fire flow.

Bringing the summer heat, ‘Love Me Leave Me’ is the perfect conclusion to K Harrison’s party-starting trilogy. The Magic Hour-produced beat is home to soft, melodic guitar licks, layered vocal riffs and Latin and trap-adjacent kicks. Smooth.

Outside the studio, K Harrison is anchored by his deep-rooted love for performing — rocking international stages in Europe and Asia. The spitter also fronted the stage at BST Hyde Park festival in front of 70,000 people, performing a full set on the Barclaycard Stage to roaring crowd applause!

Often nicknamed “The Fresh Prince of Derby”, K Harrison has developed somewhat of a cult audience over the years. With over 20k followers on Instagram, the rapper-turned-vocalist regularly engages with audience, sharing previews of new music, gigs and slice of life content to flesh out his music journey so far.

Currently, K Harrison is putting the finishing touches on his forthcoming debut LP. With a high benchmark set by tracks like ‘Love Me Leave Me’, fans eagerly anticipate his next move! Check him out below…

5EB Drops Track, ‘Silento’ + Video

London’s most exciting and talented young rappers, 19 year old 5EB drops his first video for track ‘Silento’ since the release of his highly acclaimed ‘Yin & Yang’. With this latest drop, 5EB is stepping up his game to deliver one of the most bouncy and exciting summer vibes of the year.

The single sees 5EB in his element, rapping over a self produced, intoxicating saxophone infused beat, delivering his trademark wavy style. His matter of fact and mature-for-his-age lyricism has seen him develop a strong and devout cult fan base – a true testament of his talent. The track comes accompanied by a visual from emerging director and close friend Movie Making Mitch.

Speaking on ‘Silento’, 5EB states “Silento is a reflection of young people’s lives, specifically through a Londoners view”.

Having only begun to take music seriously at the age of 15, 5EB has since gone on to collaborate with the likes of One Acen on ‘Scum’ which received a big reception from the UK rap scene, as well as feature on Mixtape Madness’s ‘Next Up’ freestyle series, being named on Dummy Mag’s Top 10 Under 18s and opening proceedings on the impressive BL@CKBOX 2021 U18 Cypher, now sitting at 2 million views. 5EB has continued to see comparisons to the likes of Knucks and Sam Wise, with his music making him ever increasingly prolific in London’s rap scene.

Song of the Day: Storyteller – DDG

What happens when you fuse space-age production quirks and trap-soaked drums with a ranged, melody-driven rap toolkit? You get DDG. After turning into ‘Elon Musk’ alongside YSL’s Gunna and diving into the UK rap ether — via Notion — selecting a 10Trax-worth of UK rap anthems, DDG is back to govern the summer. The multi-platinum Pontiac native is back with his single, ‘Storyteller’, courtesy of Epic Records.

For the track — produced by Corbett — DDG tugs on the heartstrings as he croons in a pop-adjacent manner over a trap-spun beat. In a welcome switch-up from his recent tunes, ‘Storyteller’ does exactly what the title infers. DDG crafts a narrative around heartache, toxic masculinity and the art of emotional warfare. On the instrumental front, the track is kitted-out with sharp 808 drum kicks and shimmering guitar riffs.

‘Storyteller’ follows DDG’s viral, Gunna-assisted single ‘Elon Musk’, released back in February. Since its debut, the Complex co-signed-track has amassed well over 25 million streams on Spotify alone — with almost 10 million views on YouTube too. ‘Storyteller’ looks to continue DDGs relentless splash in the UK scene as he comes through with pitch-perfect style and bravado.

This July, DDG is set to share a highly-anticipated full-length project. Tentatively entitled, ’Take Me Serious 2’ — the follow-up to his cult classic mixtape from 2017 — DDG will accompany this drop by flying to European shores in July to hit the festival circuit. DDG is looking to infiltrate the Europe rap sphere with gigs at Wireless Festival in the UK, WooHah in the Netherlands, Rolling Loud Portugal and Splash in Germany.

With a potential classic project in the works, ‘Storyteller’ has set the benchmark high for mainstream hip hop in 2022. Check him out in an official video below…
