Song of the Day: Playmate – Olive B

OLIVE B uses her melodic voice and emotive lyrics to take listeners on a reflective and often nostalgic journey through their past relationships, and the pain and pleasures that accompany love.

Her latest single ‘Playmate’ is great a mix of indie pop that meets alternative R&B with hypnotic synths and vulnerable lyrics. Have a listen below:

LADY JAY has recently unveiled a rather classy video for her latest heartfelt single, ‘Freedom’, which serves as a source of inspiration for everyone going through the dark times.

The video was shot by Wahala Entertainment in the eastern region of Ghana in a picturesque setting. The video has a beautiful message that can be seen through different symbolism and can be related to many events in Ghana and across the globe.

Song of the Day: Something Good – Austin Riddle

AUSTIN RIDDLE hones his craft as a singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, which has led him to become one of the most intriguing male R&B artists in his hometown, Alabama underground scene.

His background as a classically-trained concert/jazz pianist, has led Austin to work with a wide range of talented underground artists, covering genres from Hip-hop, R&B and Rap, he says “I’m just out here making music for myself, and sharing my journey with everyone else, I love people and I hope my music can help them enjoy life to the fullest.”

Immersing himself in creating music to be enjoyed by the masses, Austin has won numerous competitions with his performances, he has performed in cities such as Los Angeles and New Orleans and is looking to further his travels with his musical ability.

Austin’s latest offering comes in the form of feel good pop track, ‘Something Good’. Speaking on the release he says: “This is just an expression of gratitude towards a significant other. This is an exclamation of joy in what we have in such a new and beautiful relationship.”

EP Review: Echo – Turya

TURYA‘s latest EP ‘Echo’ is immediately compelling thanks to the acoustic and intimate setting which, at times, is accompanied with a bed of airy electronic and folklore soundscapes, featured in title track, ‘Echo’, ‘Magical Moments’ and remixed version of her well-received 2017 single, ‘Rain’.

However what makes this South London singer/songwriter so intriguing and captivating is her stellar vocal performance in third effort, ‘There Will Be A Place’, which heavily draws influence from, what I believe it to be, the technique of Hindustani singing.

It’s great to see TURYA back on full form by pushing her Hindu beliefs/bohemian influences further into the forefront. To be honest, I didn’t think she could top her previous EP, ‘Ocean’ – but hands up, I was soooo wrong, because this mini collection is something else.
