Dancehall/Bashment Artist Clip C Switches It Up And Drops Hip-Hop Heavy Anthem, ‘Play Nice’

Signed to East London’s latest buzz grime label Rhythm Rollers, headed up by Roll Deep’s Jamakabi, newest singing CLIP C takes charge of the scene with this concrete anthem ‘Play Nice’.

Running between Nottingham and hometown Brixton, CLIP C has been building to this moment with a flurry of releases penned and primed for takeover this summer and beyond. Earlier endeavours have brought him top ten success in the UK’s Urban Club Chart as well as being featured on Spotify’s Afro Bashment Playlist, but with ‘Play Nice’ about to drop all bets are off as underground popularity for this exciting, versatile new UK artist prepares to spill over into the mainstream.

CLIP C, known for his dancehall/bashment vibes, switches up the style for ‘Play Nice’ in superb fashion, this time opting to showcase his undeniable talent over a hip-hop beat and calling on the talents of UK Drill Pioneer Grizzy for a bedroom verse mid track.

Limoji on production lays down the beat on ‘Play Nice’ and with credits such as Mark Ronson, Basement Jaxx and Giggs on his CV. The track begins with a subtle and calming intro before dropping in to a full-on summer banger guaranteed to lift the roof off any club and send the bar b q party over into heatwave.

With tonnes more to come from CLIP C throughout 2019, it’s time to get ready to pull up ‘Play Nice.’

Song of the Day: Change The World – Jamieson (ft. Edmerald)

Described as a storyteller who narrates his life experiences through his music, London-born writer and producer Jamieson JAMIESON, makes his entry on NEW LEASE MUSIC with inspirational single ‘Change The World’. His piano-laced offering aims to make even the most jaded pessimist want to be a better person.

As JAMIESON says: “When I first heard the instrumental for the track, I knew it was a song that I’d have to deliver an uplifting and inspiring message. The main theme of the song is to change the world but I wanted to put the emphasis of having to change as individuals before being able to come together for a greater good. My music is quite biographical and honest I wanted to pen a song that showed what I’ve learned over the years to hopefully inspire others for a better future. This sounds crazy but when I was writing the song I was thinking about if I were to pass away, what message would I want to leave my children or to make them better humans? With that question in mind, that’s how this song was put together.”

‘Change the World’ is the first single from JAMIESON‘s EP, ‘The Light’. Check it out below…

Song of the Day: Spencer Street – Ren

REN brings something soothing for the weekend with latest single ‘Spencer Street’, the follow up to the well received ‘Blue Hounds’.

Unlike ‘Blue Hounds’, a protest song in the classic mould, ‘Spencer Street’ is, as Ren explains “a nostalgic song reflecting on a relationship and life I had in Newcastle a few years ago. I wrote it whilst I was on the road a year or so after the break up. But ‘Spencer Street’ with her still felt like home to me.”

REN – real name Conor Owen – first came onto the music circuit with debut EP, ‘A Calling From The Shore’ which, to date, has received over 700K streams on Spotify. He recently supported Sam Fender, Westerman and Elvis Perkins as well as appearing as an extra in Bohemian Rhapsody.
