Song of the Day: He Ain’t Me (Remix) – Ricardo Williams (ft. Lioness)

RICARDO WILLIAMS returns with a big BANG with his second (remix) single ‘He Ain’t Me’, premiered on radio via DJ Ace on BBC 1Xtra.

Produced by Sillkey(Wiley, Jacob Banks, Vanessa White) the remix takes you through a journey of clever wordplay from the opening verse by Lioness through to the catchy and fun summer vibe of the track. This remix proves Ricardo’s versatility and truly displays him as arguably one of the brightest current R&B artists from the UK.

Talking about why he decided to do a remix, Ricardo says “I wanted to show a different side of me but also give people something they can dance to. Not to mention I’ve been a huge fan of Lioness for years and when I heard her DBT remix I knew instantly I had to get her on this track!”

The remix follows ‘He Ain’t Me’ and  Ricardo’s last single ‘Come Over’ which was featured as DJ Ace’s Track of The Week on BBC 1Xtra. He partnered with fellow R&B peers J Warner, Jordan King and Mark Asari for the remix which premiered on BBC 1Xtra. Support was also received from Manny Norte on Capital Xtra, The Beat London, Pulse88 Radio, Reprezent, Westside FM, Ronnie Herel and MiSoul radio.

2018 has already been a big year with the release of new music and various live performances, including supporting Faith Evans on her UK tour (London, Birmingham and Manchester)

New Track: Come Over (Remix) – Ricardo Williams (ft. J Warner, Jordan King & Mark Asari)

Following the release of single ‘Come Over’, RICARDO WILLIAMS joined forces with fellow UK RnB peers J Warner, Jordan King and Mark Asari for the remix of the single, premiered on DJ Ace’s ‘Everything RnB’ show on 1Xtra last week.

Speaking of his latest collaboration, the Birmingham belter singer says “I honestly feel like it’s such a great time for UK RnB right now with so many talented artists in our own backyard. This remix is for the culture. I am a big fan of the 3 of them and the fact that I got them all on the same song is crazy! But it just goes to show, RnB is back and definitely here to stay!”

2018 is going to be a non-stop year for Ricardo. ‘Come Over’ is the first release from his upcoming EP ‘Intermission’ set to be dropped later in the year. The year will also see him place an emphasis on spending as much time as possible doing what he loves; performing live. He will be supporting Faith Evans on her UK tour in April and he will be performing at DJ Ace’s RnB Showcase at Liverpool’s prestigious Sound City Festival in May.

Song of the Day: Closer – IIDimensionz

II DIMENSIONZ stolen today’s hotspot with debut single ‘Closer’ taken from their upcoming debut EP ‘Love From Above’ out this month.

Featuring special guest vocals from Mark Asari and rapper Nick Brewer (Island Records) ‘Closer’ is a smooth slice of soulful R&B with plenty of old school vibes including a big nod to Rosie Gaines classic ‘Closer than Close’.

Whilst inviting special guests in for vocals all song writing, instrumentation and production is done by the boys themselves, and they’re keen to keep control of all aspects of creativity, something they’ve learned from their dads – who were both in the music business.

II DIMENSIONZ are cousins Nathan and Jermaine Williams, born and raised in East London. Their dads played with the likes of Luther Vandross, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Chaka Khan and LL Cool, so the boys were brought up with music in their blood. “We were taken to watch band rehearsals and gigs and sharing the excitement of watching our fathers perform live was a huge inspiration. It laid the foundations to our own musical journey.”

Debut 4-track EP ‘Love From Above’ is described by the duo as a modern-day take on classic 80’s soul with 90’s R&B. Alongside the single, ‘Closer’ the EP also includes the tracks ‘Waiting Room,’ ‘Coming Together’ and a deep house edit of ‘Closer.’

Check out the live performance of the single.
