EP Review: Brown Eyed Soul Vol.1 – Cherri V

Since the release of single ‘Leave Me Be’ last year, I was eagerly waiting for CHERRI V to drop her EP, ‘Brown Eyed Soul Vol 1’…

…And finally it’s here! As featured in the aforementioned single, the eight-track set boasts the presence of reggae/dub heavy(ish) bass with lucid flow of modern R&B, before switching up to a 90s-inspired slow jam with a slight lick of gospel, through ‘Snapchat Mistress’.

The collection then filters to a faultless piano-led performance through, ‘Situationship’ where you experience and undoubtedly appreciate the true beauty and purity of this London songbird’s well-poised vocals.

Featuring guest vocalists, Sincerely Wilson – who duets with CHERRI V in ‘Situationship’ – and the legendary singer Terri Walker, ‘Brown Eyed Soul Vol 1’ is definitely worth the lengthy wait. Not the one to pass up; check it out below…

Song of the Day: Know Your Worth – 91′ Thompson

91′ THOMPSON‘s latest track well deserves a place on NEW LEASE MUSIC’s Song of Day hotspot for its ambient combo of hip-hop and R&B, which works perfectly in unison with Thompson’s slick flow – who tells all the ladies out there (in around about way) to know their worth.

New Music Video: Could You Love Me? – Pleasure P (ft. Flo Rida)

PLEASURE P drops R&B / Dance joint ‘Could You Love Me?’, featuring the king of club music himself, Flo Rida.

Directed by David Rousseau, the video gives off that club setting, with dancers surrounding both artists. VH1’s Love and Hip-Hop’s beauty, Amara La Negra, makes her cameo in the video.

‘Could You Love Me?’ is the first video from GRAMMY nominee PLEASURE P‘s new full-length album, ‘Pain And Pleasure’, dropping this summer. The album will feature productions by Lil Wonder, Rico Love and Tank.

It’s time to liven up your Monday…check out the video for ‘Could You Love Me’.

New Music Video: Take A Picture – Sub Blue

UK Alt-R&B phenom, SUB BLUE, releases the music video for new single ‘Take a Picture’ produced by acclaimed U.S producers A.V & Sir Dylan.

The three-minute production finds the youngster speaking about the ills of selfie and social media culture as well as narcissism over smooth mid—tempo electronic R&B production.

New Track: Better Things – Hudson East

Fresh off his first track of the year ‘Give Me Loving’, released back in March, HUDSON EAST wastes no time and dropped his offering, ‘Better Things’ last Friday.

Sporting sporadically wavy overtones, the smooth R&B number sees the North-West Londoner expressing his intentions of moving into a more positive space in life and finding love.

Before his recent releases, Hudson was featured on Nine’s ‘One Foot Out Album’ and Krept & Konan’s ‘7 nights’  mixtape (both top 10 albums).

So if you heard of this guy before, then you know what’s coming your way – if not, rest assured you’re in great company here. Check Hudson’s ‘Better Things’ below:
