New Track! Do What You Like – Brothers Water

Do What you like

Chris Redgate (vocals), Ed Campbell (guitar), Joe Ashmore (guitar), Josh Thomas (drums) and Sean Luttman (bass)  – aka – indie rock band BROTHERS WATER reveal their new single, Do What You Like, taken from their debut EP, Your Name In Paint.

A distorted guitar takes centre stage in the four-minute reflective single, perfectly balancing the soothingly atmospheric arrangements. Describing their latest offering,  vocalist Chris Redgate said: “It’s a song about being betrayed, and how sometimes an apology doesn’t even come close to making it right.”

The EP was recorded at the Doghouse studio, Henley, under the guidance of Michaelis ‘MSM’ Michael (Skepta, Zak Abel) with help from Sticky Blood producers Andy Nicholson (Arctic Monkeys) and Jamie Shield. An early release of first single ‘Mascara’ has had airplay on Radio 1 and BBC Introducing, setting a precedent for what should be a noteworthy debut.

Your Name In Paint EP is set for release on 31 January 2016. For now, listen to Do What You Like.

EP Review: DreamVacation

DreamVacation

Gerry Matthews (bass/backing vocals), Morgan Terrinoni (guitar), and Noah Alexander (drums) -aka LA  indie rock band DREAMVACATION – have released their self-titled EP this month.

Produced by John Rausch (Taylor Swift, Pink, Florence and the Machine), the three-track set display the opposite ends of  the rock music spectrum. The result is a delicate presence of  panoramic soundscapes with the almost aggressive guitar gently ripping through the arrangements.

These rockers are definitely worth their weight in gold because they sure know how to effortlessly create a perfect balance of bitter and sweet. It’s worth a trial; have a listen right here.

EP Review: Do You Feel Electric? – Miss

miss

Fresh blood to the music scene, electronic rock duo MISS have released their entirely self-produced EP, Do You Feel Electric? last month.

Their four-track collection displays an avant-garde (and I have to say) a very dark approach to the aforementioned genres,  creating bitter-sweet volcanic bursts of excitement, well executed by the guitar and the piano (in Shelter).

Based in London and Sussex, these alternative rockers took a big gamble with their debut offering…and it could pay off quite handsomely. Show your support and take time out and listen to the EP.

Must Listens: Smokescreen (watch the video here), Shelter.

EP Review: House Above The Sun

house above the sun

Formerly known as The Healing, HOUSE ABOVE THE SUN have released their self-titled EP this week.

Following suit of their 2014 acclaimed EP, Childhood Home, the four-track offering displays a melodic presence of folk music that meets a real spine tingling, 70s-inspired rock – very reminiscent of Fleetwood Mac and Dr Hook. Sure to hit the spot with die-hard fans of these 70s cult bands.

Must Listens: Footsteps, Love’s Ugly Twin.

New Music Video: Royal Blood – Sound Glyphics

It’s almost two years since rock extreme experimentalists SOUND GLYPHICS graced NEW LEASE MUSIC with their 2013 EP, A Cacophony of Toots, Hoots, Cackles and Wails. Now the Canadian four-piece band are back with (I have to say) an improved and more refined effort, Royal Blood released late last month.

Their accompanied visual features a confused stranger mysteriously awakens in an abandoned house only to find that he is being led by the spirits that control everything that happens within. It’s one compelling video, why don’t you check it out!

Royal Blood is available to download via their website.
