BBC1 Extra-Approved Artist Treasure Shares New Single, ‘Isolation’.

Championed by the likes of BBC 1 Xtra’s Jamz Supernova, North West Londoner, TREASURE‘s single, ‘Isolation’ ushers in a new era of his singing and songwriting. Produced and engineered entirely by Treasure in his London bedroom during lockdown, ‘Isolation’ portrays the uneasiness felt by most during self-isolation, touching on the sense of duty felt by the world in giving up freedom for a just cause.

‘Isolation’ follows the release of his nine-track EP, ‘Suffocation & Air’, which saw Treasure delving into a hypnagogic pop realm, delivering lethargic yet funky synthscapes with 80’s tinged falsetto vocal arrangements.

Song of the Day: Always Free – Barbarossa

British singer-songwriter and producer, James Mathé – aka – BARBAROSSA‘s euphoric single, ‘Always Free’, is a tender, emotively charged and electronically tinged piece. Written and recorded in December 2019, Mathé explains that the song is about mental freedom (any relevance to our current situation is purely coincidental):

“‘Always free’ is about me reminding myself that I always have access to freedom from my thoughts if I can find stillness and am open to change. I really struggle with this daily but sometimes a song/film/book/my kids or a conversation might remind me just how simple it can be to just let go of trying to control the outcome and get out of my comfort zone. That’s where the good shit is, it’s in those moments.”

Xav A Says Just ‘Let It Be’ In His Latest Single

Old school meets new school in XAV A‘s brand new motivational track entitled ‘Let It Be’, released last Friday (26th July).

The New York-based singer/songwriter/producer stated that his latest creation was inspired by The Bee Gees’ hit, ‘Emotions’ and wanted to give the same relaxed and feel-good vibe.

This upriser has come a long way since his appearance on NBC’s hit a- cappella competition show, The Sing Off in 2011, winning second place during the third season. XAV A has since been featured on the likes of Rolling Stone, SoulBounce and The Singersroom and is currently partnered with a top grossing social app (Live.Me) where he sings via live stream for all his fans to tune in! LADY JAY has recently unveiled a rather classy video for her latest heartfelt single, ‘Freedom’, which serves as a source of inspiration for everyone going through the dark times.

The video was shot by Wahala Entertainment in the eastern region of Ghana in a picturesque setting. The video has a beautiful message that can be seen through different symbolism and can be related to many events in Ghana and across the globe.

Song of the Day: Silence – Little Grace

Northern contemporary R&B three-piece, LITTLE GRACE,  has linked up with producers and songwriters  XamVolo, Tee Soulful and Danny Casio for their latest single, ‘Silence’, a delicate yet impactful track, that appreciates moments of silence in a society full of deafening distractions.

Based in North West England, LITTLE GRACE sits in a landscape where the R&B scene is growing slightly behind the South of the country. However, although still in their infancy, the trio have worked with some notable names, including Bristol-based drum & bass producer TC, German producer and DJ Robin Schulz and Liverpool based XamVolo, who is also currently making waves in the Northern R&B scene.

In each of their previous singles, LITTLE GRACE has presented an original nostalgic sound that takes elements from their influences in Motown, 80’s synth pop and post 2000’s electronic and R&B. Building a catalogue of music that captures everyday life, their lyrics are honest and unfiltered, storytelling through smooth vocals.
