New Track: Pretty Little Thing – Will.i.am (ft. FT LADY LESHURR, MS BANKS & LIONESS)

LADY LESHURR, LIONESS and MS. BANKS team up with Black Eyed Peas frontman WILL.I.AM for the fiery, empowering anthem ‘Pretty Little Thing’ that is set to be a soundtrack for young queens throughout the world.

Dripping with confidence, sauce and female pride, ‘Pretty Little Thing’ captures everything that it is to be an independent lady in 2019, from self-love, integrity and fashion to a fiesty go-getter attitude, and the track couldn’t be presented by three more fitting women.

With strong, bold imagery that is set off by bountiful, deep orange highlights to open the video, the whistling melody and catchy, self-vocalled hook, sit upon a deep rumbling bassline making for the snappiest of joints courtesy of WILL.I.AM and producer DJ Ammo. Colours stand as a strong message throughout the video, representing both the individuality of each emcee, and women worldwide, and their solidarity as a group, as hues of orange and pink dominate the storyline, whilst powerful lyricism and performances deliver an empowered and genuine message.

First to step up to the mic is LIONESS who wastes no time in claiming the number as an unapologetic UK offering and delivers her articulate, lyrical verse with sheer tenacity and a knock out performance to camera. Sliding in to grab the mic for verse two is ‘Snack’ barrer MS BANKS who spits her mantra to always remain unashamedly unique, followed by the Birmingham rap queen LADY LESHURR who brings her impeccable lyrical skill, genuine attitude and raw honesty to wrap up proceedings.

Framed with edits and snapshots that make the video feel like it’s straight from a fashion contact sheet, ‘Pretty Little Thing’ is the perfect collaboration of music and fashion brought together by the PrettyLittleThing fashion retailer themselves.

Song of the Day: Over & Done – MH The Verb

MH THE VERB drops another standout joint from his 2017 Afronaut project entitled ‘Over & Done’, which serves as an anthem of self-pride.

Apropos to National Women’s Month the accompanied music video, directed Bob Sweeney, champions two Philly based female artists of colour who are succeeding and advancing in their respective male-dominated fields: glass artist Kim Thomas and flow artist/fire dancer Alicia Talia.

EP Review: Jade Vol.1 – Bianca Jade

Following the release of her single, ‘Feelin’, Florida’s rising R&B singer BIANCA JADE continues to spread the message of self-love and empowerment to the fellow female race, through her second EP ‘Jade Vol.1’, released yesterday.

Comprising of just four tracks, ‘Jade Vol.1’ introduces a bed of soothingly idyllic soundscapes, met with an infectiously dominant b-line through ‘Used To This.’ This combo, topped off by Jade’s alluringly delicate vocals, continues throughout the set.

Concluding piece,’B.S.’, pleasantly interrupts the EP’s soothing theme, with angelic guitar plucks taking centre stage and gives some body to the track’s airy arrangement. Jade’s vocals, which remained constantly delicate throughout the EP, suddenly roars with passion, definitely one of the highlights of the collection.

Having creating major buzz in her hometown, Miami with debut EP, ‘B-Light’, the Cuban/Jamaican songbird decided to step up her music career by moving to New York City – and her latest offering has every possibility to repeat that success in the Big Apple.

It’s time to witness a star on the rise – check her out below:

Song of the Day: Let It Side – Tee Krispil

TEE KRISPIL steals today’s hotspot with a message for all the lady bosses out there through track, ‘Let It Side’.

The track is about eradicating that fight of inner conflict by going with the gut feeling and be the person you want to be – without being obsessive. In a nutshell the message in this three-minute banger is to let your hair down and Let It Slide.

The accompanied debut video, in Tee words, is ‘as equally bossy as it is silly’, a great representation of the rapper-on the-rise.

New Music Video: Snoopin – Lily Kiing

Following the release of track, ‘Schmoney’ – which recently claimed NEW LEASE MUSIC’s Song of the Week title – LILY KIING  once again comes out the new dark with fun visuals to her latest offering, ‘Snoopin’, produced by Xvr Blk.

Maintaining her titillating bad girl image throughout the video, Kiing teamed up with videographer – Shannon Brown, to create a colour contrasted production. Both confidence and sexuality are celebrated in this video, with the Trap & B vocalist’s mindset – “think sexy & confident, then look it”.

Set in eerie toned tunnels in the heart of East London, Lily is seen surrounded by beautiful women. Her deep tones in her vocals warm the trap & B instrumental to create a chilled vibe.

Often compared to ‪Teyana Taylor‬ and ‪Rihanna, LILY KIING does not fail to provide both rawness in her vocals and trap vibes – a combo that gave this MOBO’s ‘Ones To Watch 2017′ star the opportunity to open for J Stash a few months back.

Definitely the one to look out for….hit the play button on ‘Snoopin’.
