New Music Video: Teen No More – Sub Blue

SUB BLUE, shares another slice of his life with ‘Teen No More’, produced by acclaimed US producers A.V and Sir Dylan

‘Teen No More’ features minimalist electronic R&B production topped with emotive vocals by the young  Alt-R&B prospect, as he explores the issues of growing into early ‘adulthood’ and everything that brings with it.

Speaking of his latest release, SUB BLUE said: “I wrote ‘Teen No More’ about the fear of growing up and having to accept full responsibility for everything we do. [As teens] We often live our life not really thinking or knowing what can happen next but we have the confidence to know we are going to make things happen. That’s the kind of theme here”

Taking his name from his self-described style of music, “suburban blues”, Sub Blue offers a fresh take on chilled out, alternative introspective R&B. The visuals for his past effort, ‘Hype Like Supreme.’ was named Music Video of the Month back in January by NEW LEASE MUSIC.

Seminal UK Rapper K KOKE  is set to release a six track EP ‘FFF Prison’ and has dropped the first taste of it live on BBC Radio 1 & 1Xtra with DJ Charlie Sloth.

Featuring Dappy, ‘On Remand’ lays bare the frustrations and emotions of a man wrongly accused and subjected to time behind bars without bail. The realities of missing key moments in his children’s lives and seeing loved ones lives upturned all come to the forefront in the moving and honest account of this very public period in Koke’s life.

The new track has already sparked major interest with fans, as both Koke and Dappy took to their Instagram accounts to drop images of them together at the video shoot, making them eager to find out more. Upon Koke then heading in to BBC Broadcasting House to announce the release of his EP and let Charlie play the record on the airwaves for the first time, Twitter exploded in a flurry of excitement as DJ’s and fans instantly started requesting to hear the record again.

Added to the selection of the 5 other tracks, the EP becomes a musical journey and lyrical exploration of Koke’s time behind bars, which shrouded a major time in his career with a dark shadow and controversy that was ignited by the media and caused worldwide interest in his story.

Finally able to tackle all angles surrounding this period of his life and speak freely, honestly and emotionally about them, Koke enlists UK favourites Maverick Sabre, Dappy, Big French and Angel on the records to deliver a varying tone and pace that provide a marked and personal account of his emotions and situations, both inside and outside of prison.

Once again set to cause a furore, his undeniable talent has clearly been stirred as he ramps up the intensity of his craft with a matured and seasoned lyricism and delivery, that seize the interest of both the hardened rap fan already familiar with his story, and those yet to make the discovery of the exceptional rap talents of K KOKE.

EP Review: Dreamlife – J Kas

The reason why I admire this guy so much – and is forever welcomed on this blog – because he’s fearless, always coming with something different every single time.

His previous projects ‘Snapchat’ and ‘One Six’ is a mix bag of electro dance with Latin flair, spiced up banishment and smooth after hours jams. On the other side of the spectrum, his recent collaboration with Cellar Door Moon Crow sees the Sheffield hip-hop contender step up to the plate and rip through the sporadic rock chords.

Now J.KAS turn his hands to something completely different with latest project, ‘Dreamlife’. Named after a London producer who produced some of his past materials – including ‘Cali Dreaming’ and ‘To The Top’ (from One Six EP) – the four-track set possess a strong of presence hazy golden hip-hop/boombap, where this BBC introducing artist’s smooth delivery rapidly slides through the bars of each track.

Never the one to sit back and relax, J.KAS took his latest set on tour – named after the EP- across Europe, visiting Belgium, Paris, Porto and Lisbon where he encouraged the locals of each city to get involved in the creative process of the music videos.

Here’s your chance to check out the visuals for first single from the EP ‘Overtime’ released today…and expect a whole load of visuals from this guy in the near future.
