Danny Kuttner Shares Alt-Soul Single, ‘Chasing Myself’ + Announces New EP.

Tel Aviv based artist DANNY KUTTNER shares new single ‘Chasing Myself’, alongside announcing her brand new EP ‘Purple’ to be released via Kartel Music Group.

Born in Amsterdam and raised in Israel, Danny steps into the spotlight with a smooth and soulful track influenced by ECM’s contemporary jazz and 90s neo-soul, all whilst blending laid-back organic tones with left-field electronic production. ‘Chasing Myself’ sees Danny Kuttner talking about very raw and intimate life situations whilst her self-production has beautifully captured the deep meanings behind her lyrics. Combining a variety of synths and live instruments such as trumpets, classic guitar and bass, this track not only shows off her talent but also her attention to detail beyond the recording process.

Talking about the track Danny explains: “Chasing Myself was written when I was in a loving relationship and knowing how important it is to have my time alone. There was a point where I lost myself and got a harsh mirror, and I wanted to write about that experience.

I feel there are so many love songs, where I wanted to create a song about a different side of loving someone. About being alone inside of a relationship, bringing myself time of nourishments and self love. It brought me back the ability to truly give love to somebody else”

Danny Kuttner’s new single ‘Chasing Myself’ is out now alongside its music video and is taken from the forthcoming EP ‘Purple’. Watch the video for ‘Chasing Myself’ below…

Karen Harding Shares Her Declaration Of Self-Love With Single, ‘Strong For You’

Melbourne-based folk-pop singer-songwriter, KAREN HARDING‘s latest declarative single ‘Strong For You’, sets a scene of curiosity and mystery, through the simplicity of the heartfelt tinkling of piano keys and then introduces a layer of fingerpicked guitar. Karen Harding’s alluring vocals immediately drawn us into a melancholic story that of heartbreak which builds up to a sense of hope and promise.

“I love that ’Strong For You’ holds layers of meaning.. The song can be translated as a declaration of love and a promise to be there with someone special, through the hard times.. to say you’ll be there through thick and thin. I have been going through a period of a lot of self-exploration.. For me, this song was born out of a desire to be there for the aspects of myself that I have previously rejected or disliked.. to accept and to carry them through difficult feelings and emotions, even when it’s not comfortable to do so. It’s a song of healing.” Karen Harding

Likened to the sounds of Eva Cassidy, Sarah McLachlan and Karen Carpenter, Karen Harding released her first single, ‘I Didn’t Realise’ in May 2021. She went on to win the November 2021 Bendigo Bank sponsored Independent Songwriter Talent Show on Radio Eastern FM in Melbourne for her single, ‘Anxiety’, Top 10 winner for the World Songwriting Awards, for her single, ‘Something Special’ and a nominee for Best International Artist on Crags Radio Independent Artist Awards in February 2022.

OUT TODAY: Izza Shares New Single, ‘Love Bracelets + Video

Today, electro-pop singer, songwriter and producer IZZA returns with her new single and video, ‘Love Bracelets.’

‘Love Bracelets’ is an instantly infectious, club-ready single that spreads an empowering message of self-love. Expanding on the new song, Izza says: “I used to value my worth based on how people viewed me and what relationships I was in or wasn’t in. I wrote ‘Love Bracelets’ when I started focusing on myself and discovered that true happiness doesn’t come from loving someone else, but by loving yourself.” Fusing trap-inspired beats, experimental synths and digitized vocals, “Love Bracelets” puts Izza’s knack for creating addictive electro-pop gems on full display.

Inspired by her upbringing in California, Izza’s gritty pop sound and unapologetic lyrics explore the duality between fantasy and reality as she attempts to find purpose in a materialistic world. At age 13, writing songs became a form of therapy and productive rebellion for Izza— an outlet to express herself and her struggles without restriction or consequence.

Since making her debut in 2020 with the release of her first single, ‘405,’ Izza has quickly risen as a unique force in the pop scene. In the past two years, she’s racked up over 200K streams, generated noteworthy blog buzz, and performed at 320 Festival, an online mental health music festival, alongside acts like Chris Martin (Coldplay), Kiiara, Elohim, and Echosmith.

Alt-Pop Artist Cyprss Tackles Body Positivity In Latest Single, ‘The House I Hate’

CYPRSS‘ new single addresses her struggles with self-confidence and body positivity. 2020 sparked a conversation about mental health, and within that, the way we see our bodies. ‘A House I Hate’ tackles this issue head on, using the image of a house to represent her body. Sonically, the song is inspired by Billie Eilish’s eerie dark pop sound and contains a hip-hop inspired groove.

‘A House I Hate’ identifies the things CYPRSS wishes she could change about her physical being while also expressing a desperation to accept herself. After the second chorus, there is a an “ear-wrenching explosion of synthesizer sounds” that CYPRSS says “resembles the intense energy of animosity I felt towards my body when writing this song”.

Cyprss says: “My favorite thing about this song is that, though it is honest about the pain of self-hatred, it doesn’t end there. As I’ve been working the steps of recovery in my own life, it has changed my perspective of myself. Am I always super confident and never struggle now? No. But I’m learning to silence the negative voices in my head and give power to the healthy ones.”

‘A House I Hate’ ends with the thought that perhaps healing doesn’t come from covering up or changing our bodies, but rather from changing the way we see ourselves.

CYPRSS has always been an advocate for mental health through her music. Her signature song ‘Underworld’ dives into a place of “ice-cold terror”, describing the experience of someone in the midst of deep depression and anxiety.

The name CYPRSS is inspired by the strength and resilience of cypress trees which can grow and thrive in very harsh environments.
