Song of the Day: Fit For A King – Tilly Valentine

After accumulating over 175,000 streams with three self-released singles, whilst gaining coverage across BBC Radio One, BBC Radio 1Xtra and BBC Radio 6 Music, electronic jazz singer/songwriter, TILLY VALENTINE adds latest effort ‘Fit For A King’ to her impressively growing discography.

Possessing a fresh take of R&B/soul with a hint of jazz, giving the almost three-minute production a vibrant uplift, ‘King For A King’ essentially chronicles when a person doesn’t know when they’re in a perfect relationship – that’s fit for a king!

Before its release last month, ‘Fit For A King’ was featured on BBC Radio One with Huw Stephens, as well as being added to BBC Sounds ‘The Hot List’ and gained further support from BBC Radio 1Xtra.

Jessica Wilde blends old soul with savvy street defiance on new single ‘Out Of My ooo’

Following her debut ‘Cry For Me’, which was premiered as BBC Radio 1xtra’s ‘Record Of The Week’, Brixton raised singer JESSICA WILDE is ready to sweep you off your feet with a sassy new single ‘Out Of My ooo’.

The single bursts with classic soul style blended with street savvy defiance. This creative fusion reflects her multicultural upbringing; brought up on her St Helenian mother’s obsession with jazz and soul, Jessica doused it with hip hop leanings and set it a light.

With its brass, bouncy bass and finger-clicking strut tempo it’s impossible not to get hooked on ‘Out Of My ooo’ and its attitude infused swing. It’s the type of top songwriting that has seen Jessica sign a publishing deal with Sony ATV and work with luminaries such as Ghetts and Tough Love. Another of her self-penned tracks ‘Strangers Love’ was recently released by renowned Korean K-pop label SM Entertainment and her recent co-write with Rudimental, ‘More Than Anything’ featured vocals from Emile Sande and made their album.

The session at Ne-Yo’s Hollywood studio, with producer Kizzo (Ne-Yo, Afrojack) was a defining moment for Jessica – not only because she survived a bizarre, high speed LA crash moments before the recording began, but because her own project was borne and the basis of her upcoming singles took form. Three months in LA, and several purposefully missed flights later, Jessica returned to London, ready to showcase herself and her music to the world…

With its festive glow and stylish addictive refrain ‘Out Of My ooo’ is set to put Jessica Wilde firmly on the map this winter as an unmissable diverse artist who embraces the best of classic songwriting and instills it with bite.

’25 Miles From Vegas’ is the latest single from Soul/Disco supergroup – THE TRIBE OF GOOD.

THE TRIBE OF GOOD are the secret weapons behind your favourite chart hits. Imagine a present-day version of LA’s Wrecking Crew, if they hung out in Ronnie Scott’s, performed live with Dizzee Rascal and knew their way around a synthesiser. These are the talented artists you’ve heard performing with, or on records by artists as diverse and influential as Stormzy, M.I.A., The xx, MNEK, and Kanye West.

A sprawling supergroup that combines vintage soul and disco with modern production techniques, THE TRIBE OF GOOD are steered by Grammy-nominated producer Hal Ritson (Chemical Brothers, Katy Perry, Duke Dumont, High Contrast).
