Elite Music Group artist QUAILZ P. releases the video for his smooth hip-hop and R&B single, On You.’ The track is from Quailz P.‘s critically acclaimed EP, ‘One Play Away,’ streaming now on all platforms.
To close out 2023, Quailz P. would release his latest project ‘One Play Away’, an 8-track EP with production from Ceezneck Beats, B~Wee, and platinum South Carolina producer Big Hurt. The project was mostly handled by the head engineer at 400 studios, ABandz.
“It was so many highs in my life in 2023, it felt like I was a step away from fulfilling my dreams, and that is how I feel now. I felt like I owed it to myself and the people that supported me to put this project out. I wanted to wait a while because the songs on there are great songs and I just wanted things to be perfect. I could not wait though, I had to put it out,” Quailz P. says. Not only did he release a solid EP, QP released a documentary entitled Making A Play showing the making of the EP One Play Away.
“I have been doing music for a while, and most people usually give up when they do not get the results, they feel they deserve. I honestly feel I am getting better so I cannot think that way. The highly anticipated project lived up to expectations on the first day of its release as it also entered yet another chart on iTunes. CRWN peaked at #88 on the top 100 albums in all genres chart, sitting comfortably and confidently above Elton John’s Diamonds. This incredible accomplishment doesn’t happen without D’Shaun and the RYLTY crew’s hard work and dedication to creating an album packed with 12 playable and enjoyable records that each bring a different sound and vibe when stimulating your brain.
D’Shaun continues to put Converse, Texas, on the map as he showcases not only his talent but the talents found within his circle. From Austria to Detroit to Houston, he credits the artists around him for helping provide the “spacey yet quintessential Hip-Hop but with a new school sort of feel” sound that he believes his latest body of work entails. This album not only incorporates Hip-Hop but it also throws some dashes of rap, pop and R&B, adding some more seasoning to the recipe we already knew D’Shaun brought to the table. He’s dabbled in those genres before but with CRWN he brings them altogether in a cohesive manner, letting each live and grow with one another as they flow beautifully the more and more you run the project back. Minnesota-based singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist BAIN is the latest addition to the growing roster of +FE Music, the label founded and run by Phonte and Dutch producer Nicolay (also known as the Grammy-nominated soul duo The Foreign Exchange). With two full-length albums already under his belt with producer Afrokeys (2014’s Love In Blue and 2019’s Around The Sun), Bain teams with Nicolay for his third full-length album Lifetime, due out later this year. The pair shared the forthcoming album’s new single ‘Here To Stay’, available on all digital streaming platforms via +FE Music/EMPIRE.
“‘Here To Stay’ was created when I packed up the key elements of my home studio and embarked on a sojourn to a remote cabin on the North Shore of Lake Superior in Minnesota. I have always found this great lake to be an endless source of inspiration. After spending a few days alone in the woods, I came away with three songs I was content with. ‘Here To Stay’ was the upbeat, electronic-based, universal love song of the bunch. The tracks were then sent to Nicolay who added his instrumentation and fully produced and mixed the song. Over the driving bass line, blends of organic guitars, and dreamy synthesizers, I sing of a bright and clear message that love is here to stay.” – Bain
As a fourth-generation singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, music is literally embedded in Davis Bain’s DNA. Like his forefathers, Davis has harbored a passion for stringed instruments since his youth. He quickly fell in love with the electric guitar in particular, and enjoyed playing R&B, funk and gospel music in various bands performing in the Minneapolis area.
Davis set his sights on becoming a recording artist after discovering the albums that his estranged father would record and release from his farmhouse studio. From that moment forward, he has focused on writing, performing and producing his own songs.
Together with his long time friend, music producer Afrokeys, Davis has co-produced and released two full-length albums under the moniker “Bain”: 2014’s Love In Blue and 2019’s Around The Sun. For his upcoming third full-length album, he has linked up with Grammy nominated music producer Nicolay, best known as one half of independent soul duo and label-operators The Foreign Exchange.
