Song of the Day: How You Like Me Now – Soho Kings

how-you-like-me-now-soho-kings

The dish of the day just keeps on coming here on NEW LEASE MUSIC – and today hip-hop/rap/pop duo SOHO KINGS steals the hotspot with their infectiously smooth track, which well documents their successes and the determination to make it to the top – but I can’t help thinking there’s a subliminal message for all the haters. Check it out and see if I’m right.

EP Review: Snapchat – J.Kas

I gonna kick off the first review of the year with NEW LEASE MUSIC staple J.KAS‘ five-track EP ‘Snapchat’.

This hot property from Sheffield continues to dash A WHOLE HEAP of hot pepper sauce in the latest project, by adding his seamless flow to dangerously infectious dance bangers, uptempo and rhythmic after hours hip-hop/R&B.

This one is definitely a keeper; add to your collection for free via Bandcamp.

Must Listens: All Night (Sugah Sugah), Cold Love, Fxck With Me.

Song of the Day: Real Friends (Remix) – Adilson Evora

adilson-evora-student-of-life

Hailing all the way from Rotterdam, City of Netherlands, ADILSON EVORA jumps back into the spotlight and dropped his four-track EP Student of Life (The Prelude) just before the new year.

Featuring tracks Puppet Master and Rotterdam Legend (A Committee Gunmen Tribute), featured on NEW LEASE MUSIC earlier last year, latest release Real Friends (Remix), is a continuation of the upriser golden hip-hop-style trademark, displaying his journey of becoming a better artist.

Go check out Real Friends (Remix)…and if you’re feeling this track, the EP serves up of what’s to come from this conscious emcee in the new year.

New Track: Meditations – Mr. Metronomo

mr-metronomo

Coming straight out of Los Angeles, experimental band MR METRONOMO released their latest single Meditations, available on all major music digital platforms, including Bandcamp.

Judging from the newest offering, their music can’t be pigeonholed under one genre. Led by lead vocalist John Perea, this almighty band typically provides a steady/laid back flow of electronic beats, horns and low-key vocals, with Rory Mahtews offering up the smoothest guitars riffs.

The rest of the members include: Tenor Sax, Sarah Rosenkrantz on vocals,  Isaac Lopez on bari sax, Gabe Martin on trumpet, Nick Kennerly/Bonnie Brooksbank on violins, Mathew Witmer on viola and Evgeny Tonkha on the cello. That’s a pretty big band, which can fuse a variety of new sounds together; a completely different sound that’s very fitting for that lazy Sunday morning.

Meditations is the latest release from their 13-track album, The La Metro Experience, released in August…take time out and have a listen.
