Art Block Shares Touching Single, ‘Brother’

I first heard the single, ‘Brother’ on Instagram and the heart-wrenching acoustic arrangements immediately touched my soul (which is a rare occasion!) I had to reach out to the person behind the beautiful single, East London-based folk singer/songwriter ART BLOCK and expressed my admiration for his latest offering and in turn, he submitted his single.

So I’m absolutely delighted to share ‘Brother’ with you guys, among a pool of other talented newcomers here on NEW LEASE MUSIC.

Produced by Ian Barter, who recently produced Gabrielle’s covers album, ‘Do It Again’, piano-led ‘Brother’ heavily possesses Art’s main influences, Radiohead and Jeff Buckley, where I get a sense that this amazing storyteller narratives a story of betrayal, through his magically delicate vocal performance.

‘Brother’ is out now on all good download/streaming sites…why not check out the video for the single below…

Song Of the Day: The In Between – Favourite Daughter

FAVOURITE DAUGHTER‘s latest single, ‘The In Between’, is far cry from her previous wonderfully chaotic offering, ‘Long Distance, which chronicles losing control of your feelings.

Positioned in a guitar-led intimate setting, ‘The In Between’ is about meeting someone you really like and the cocktail of feelings encountered when taking the dating phase to the next stage – the anticipation of happiness, the anxiety of having to stay in the moment, and the fear of being vulnerable with someone new and getting hurt.

Speaking of her single, the Montreal singer-songwriter says: I wrote The In Between a few weeks after meeting my partner. I was adamantly single and had every intention to remain that way, but of course love always finds you when you’re not looking, and I found myself terrified at how quickly I was falling for her. I wanted to strip this song back to its bare essentials and make it feel as intimate as possible, so the listener feels like they’re the only person in the room.

Song of the Day: Wish I Never Met You – Sophia Fracassi

SOPHIA FRACASSI‘s single, ‘Wish I Never Met You’ is a touching heartbreak anthem about being hurt by someone that you loved deeply. Full of hurt and perhaps anger, the emotively raw lyrics for the single somewhat serves a therapy by simply wishing away that you never met that person at all…

Check out the official video for the single below, featuring the young Canadian songstress belting out some killer notes to release the heartbreak she experienced by a former lover.
