Watch Jessica Wilde’s Video, ‘Freak Out’

JESSICA WILDE‘s video for latest single, ‘Freak Out’, mirrors the song’s message of stepping into your power and following the call of spirit.

Musically, the track sizzles with bass loaded, rhythm inflected dirty alt-Hip hop / pop vibes, with Wilde’s candid and intelligent rap lyrics weaving around infectiously. Produced by Wilde herself, with atmospheric snappy percussion flourishing and quirky vocal samples scattered throughout making a truly unique sound with the distinctive finishing touch of co-production by Tom Maine (WU-LU, Kid Cruise).

‘Freak Out’, which has been picked up for plays on BBC 6 Music’s New Music Fix and BBC Radio 1’s Future Artists, is the first single of a powerful forthcoming album project from Wilde, which features some of the most insanely talented artists on the rise- Josh Barry (Nile Rodgers / Rudimental), Zoe Kypri (Black Coffee) and James Newman (Writer of Brit award winning song ‘Waiting all night’ by Rudimental’).

Song of the Day: Land of Escape – Moon Sisters

Land of Escape’ is the first single released by Irish-Dutch vocal group, MOON SISTERS. The song is about inter-connection on a deep level; people need people to talk to, to laugh with, to cry with, to miss, to love, to depend on and to support, without bias or judgement.

Moon Sisters express this as ‘a connection of hearts and minds’. The song is also about hope, which thrives on human connection – hope for wishes to come true, and for a dreamy escapeland: a better world! The song is inspired by the mutual bond that the three singers formed in a short time after meeting via the online social singing app ‘Smule’.

Moon Sisters are Julieanne Black Reel from Ireland, Eva Stultjens and Ilona Dekker from the Netherlands. Through song, the girls instantly connected and formed a beautiful bond, much like sisters. The girls were recognised on social media by a festival organiser in Ireland. He flew Ilona and Eva over to perform a full live concert with Julieanne at the Muckno Mania Festival (Castleblayney). This was the first time that the girls met and sang together physically. They received a standing ovation, and the concert was a magical experience for them. This was just the beginning of their musical journey! Have a listen to their stunning debut below…

AMAARA shares her great escapism single, ‘Bright Lights’ + Video

AMAARA is the multimedia project of musician, actor and filmmaker Kaelen Amara Ohm. From 2013-2016, she joined Canadian indie-folk band Reuben and the Dark as a lead guitarist and keyboard player, touring North America and opening for acts like St. Vincent, Vance Joy and The Counting Crows. She is now set to release her first official LP as AMAARA, Child of Venus, on next month (7th July). The Canadian-born singer-songwriter and producer’s third collection of songs (following 2017’s Black Moon EP and 2020’s Heartspeak EP) is reminiscent of classic-era dream-pop as well as Radiohead’s most spectral and haunting moments – and yet the resulting sound is entirely her own, teeming with detail in a way that draws listeners in and keeps them coming back.

Following up on lead single, ‘New Love’s Mortal Coil,’ the track ‘Bright Lights’ is about a road trip AMAARA took from Los Angeles to Berkeley, California through Big Sur to clear her head after a really challenging situation she had just been through. Reversed guitar riffs and washed out synth pads give the song a very spacious and open quality which is often how AMAARA feels when driving – especially on the coast.

Song of the Day: Let It Fly – Rayne Storm (ft. Krizz Kaliko)

RAYNE STORM returns with single ‘Let It Fly’, featuring Strange Music’s own Krizz Kaliko. The melodic track serves as the second single off his upcoming album ‘Audiocity II’.

The production by Wyshmaster creates a riding bassline as the background for this introspective weed anthem. Krizz delivers with his classic midwest flow while Rayne brings it with a bouncy verse about getting away from the stress of daily life, in between puffs of smoke.

‘Let It Fly’ is a must for any cannabis enthusiasts playlist. Make sure you hit play on this while you light one up…

OUT TODAY: Listen To Thyra Hilden’s EP, ‘Lucid Dreampop’

THYRA HILDEN’s new, EP ‘Lucid Dreampop’, features five tracks of dreamy pedal steel and saturated bass, leaving you in a sensual trance, feeling like slowly passing through a mirror. The lyrics are Nordic existentialism, mapping out the land between passionate love and insanity, in a humorous way.

An internationally recognised visual artist, Danish-born Thyra Hilden has been regularly interviewed by the BBC, CNN, EURONEWS and more. In 2021, she debuted as a musician and quickly gained attention for her existential POP in both radio and press. Thyra’s songs are full of dreamy Nordic melancholy in both lyrics and vocals. She has an airy voice and deliberately understated style. There are only a few artists who make existential pop and Thyra is central to this small niche. Most POP is about him, her and couple issues, whereas Thyra’s lyrical universe with humorous metal layers delves into illusion, confusion and paradoxes of what is real.
