Music Video: Red – Ebson

London musician EBSON drops his visual to the emotive latest offering, ‘Red’, directed by internationally renowned visual artist Graeme Mortimer Evelyn, and starring dancers Nandi Bhebhe (Tate Modern, A Midsummer Nights Dream at The Globe) and Renako McDonald (Cirque du Soleil, Disney’s Tarzan).

Conceptualised by Graeme Mortimer Evelyn and EBSON, the dancers were given direction to move around within the space, made to look like a home, in Seven Sisters, London. The chemistry between the two dancers is evident, and energetic movement illustrates the heart-rending battle between the two.

New Track: Vlad Lucan- Reverse (Mediatrix Remix)

London-based producer Nina Moore, otherwise known as MEDIATRIX, provides the second instrumental piece of the week with her angelic electronic treatment on Vlad Lucan’s well received single,‘Reverse’.

Debuted by Steve Angello on his BBC Radio 1 show, The three-minute original production combines complex synth lines juxtaposed with an acoustic piano break to create a moving piece of emotional electronica.

Having achieved huge success in his home country (Romania) producing hip-hop as one half of the award-winning duo Agresiv, Vlad Lucan has been making waves in the electronic scene, garnering online support from the likes of Proximity and EDM Sauce.

Credits for London’s Mediatrix Music include remixes of Vlad Lucan and Lenno for Axtone Records and hip-hop remix tracks for legendary Comptown Records rapper Tairrie B and Paleface Junkies.

Song of the Day: 24 Carat – Adian Coker (ft. Tamaraebi)

 

Today’s song comes from ADIAN COKER‘s latest effort, ’24 Carat’, taken from his upcoming EP ‘Buena Vistas’.

The South London rapper/producer has been trailblazing a path since the release of his debut mixtape – receiving critical acclaim from hip-hop tastemakers and beyond, heralding him as a pioneer of the new-school of British hip-hop for his lyrical ability, the quality of his production, creative visuals and overall ambitious artistic vision.

Supported by BBC 1Xtra, Adian has hosted three shows as part of Xtra talent, played the 1Xtra stage at Reading & Leeds Festival, had many tracks championed by Semtex and his single ‘Get Money’ playlisted on BBC Introducing.

2016 saw the release of his second EP,  ‘Connect’ was spotted by international tastemaker label Kitsuné, co-signing the track ‘Krispy’ on its signature compilation ‘Maison 18’ and releasing the track ‘Blue Collar’ on its Hot Stream channels, garnishing international acclaim.

A one to watch for 2017, Adian is about to release his new EP ‘Buena Vistas’ on Kitsuné, composed of 6 original tracks, to be released early June. ’24 Carat’,  is one of those feel good songs that makes you want to jump up and move – so here’s your chance to shake up your Monday – go check this bad boy out.

New Music Video: Masterpiece – Cilla Raie

Hailing from North London, singer/songwriter CILLA RAIE, has released her first music video for ‘Masterpiece’ produced by Joey Dyer (Iggy Azalea – Fancy, Katy B, Conor Maynard) with guest backing vocals from Ryan De La Cruz. Taken from her self-titled debut EP, ‘Masterpiece’ has racked up over 20,000 plays on SoundCloud since its release.

Directed by Daniel ‘Musical D’ Smith (Dizzee Rascal, Footsie, D Double E), the four-minute production reflects the concept of emotional vulnerability and passion experienced during a relationship, with the use of close-up shots and glitching transitions to give an emotive vibe to the audience.

Taking inspiration from the likes of Aaliyah, Brandy and Toni Braxton, the 23-year-old began recording music at just 14-years-old, with grime producer DaVinche, being one of her key mentors during the early stages of her musical journey. Combining her love of for R&B and pop music, Cilla delivers heartfelt lyrics with a sultry soft tone across this project.

This year will see the release of the songstress’ second EP, a body of work paying homage to growing pains as a young adult, whilst she embarks on a 2017 School Tour with UK Music delivering music workshops to students across the UK.

Music Video Premiere: For The City – Sonz of Thunder UK

Following their appearance on NEW LEASE MUSIC with inspirational track, ‘Frontline Testimony’ Shane and Dean Brown – aka SONZ OF THUNDER UK – is back, grabbing Friday night’s hotspot, with their music video to Wstrn-sampled track, ‘For The City’, released today.

As supporters of the National Campaign Against Gun and Knife Violence, the hip-hop/reggae duo uses the three-and-a-half minute production to addresses the issue of knife and gun crimes among young people today.

Previously, the brothers have created a buzz with tracks, ‘It’s All About Love’, ‘God on the Mind’ ‘More to Life’ and ‘Frontline Testimony’ which recently created online attention and raised eyebrows from music tastemakers including Vents magazine, Guestlist and  The LinkedUp.
