Following the release of his acclaimed debut EP ‘Conversations’, East London vocal powerhouse, JEROME THOMAS presents a mesmerising performance in the new video – directed by Christopher Cargill whose portfolio includes Giggs and Emeli Sandé – for lead track, ‘The Stone’.
‘The Stone’ is one of the lighter more self-explanatory tracks from the socially conscious EP, tackling topics that still remain taboo within the music industry. It is a personal and sincere body of work, devoid of banality, inspired by Jerome’s observations of society and conversations with close family and friends.
The Dalston native has been championed by the likes of The Fader, i-D, Idol Magazine and MTV, as well as receiving key radio support from BBC Radio 1, 1Xtra and Rinse FM. Having headlined a number of sold out shows at Bush Hall, Notting Hill Arts Club and Queen Of Hoxton, and aligning himself with revered industry peers such as Hannah Faith (Soulection), Black The Ripper, Footsie (Newham Generals) and Davinche, it is becoming increasingly difficult to ignore the talents of this genre-defying artist….check him out!
Ahead of his performance at Pitch Festival this Saturday, new alt-R&B artist NAMBYAR unveiled gorgeous slow motion visuals for single ‘Once More’.
Melting sumptuous ambient synths, NAMBYAR surrounds his soulful vocals with tender and strikingly understated beats. His enigmatic and entrancing sound is aptly illustrated in the compelling video accompanying the new cut; where the singer’s confessional, intensely emotional and cinematic lyrics take center stage.
‘Once More’ is the follow-up to his debut track ‘Warm In The Winter’, which saw support from the likes of MTV. The track reached half a million streams within a month of release, making it onto Spotify’s ‘New Music Friday’ Playlist.
Born to a Fijian father and Dutch mother, NAMBYAR relocated to a small village just above Amsterdam to work on his own music for the last three years, honing his songwriting and production.
Initially inclined towards guitar-driven melodies and playing in a band, NAMBYAR’s current sound developed when he started writing songs on PolySix and Prophet analogue synthesizers in his own studio. The bold statement of an artist letting go of his past, ‘Once More’ was one of the first songs he wrote while holed up in the studio. This solitary time fed an uninhibited new musical focus.
With his live credentials already including a performance at this year’s Eurosonic festival, this newcomer has been making his mark on the European electronic circuit, with writing credits including Swedish pop singer Erik Rapp’s new single ‘Look Like Lovers’ and a live performance confirmed at Amsterdam’s Pitch Festival on 1st July, the talented artist is sure to make waves with ‘Once More’. Check out the video.
LOUIS BAKER has leaped onto NEW LEASE MUSIC’s midweek hotspot with his most soulful single to date, ‘Addict’.
This increasingly popular New Zealand artist evokes classic soul through a seductive ‘70s bass groove and Motown-esque guitar stabs, which showcases a mellifluous vocal range and primal R&B scream. ‘Addict’ perfectly displays Baker’s multi-instrumentalist talents, as he plays the role of bassist, guitarist, lead and backing vocalist on this track.
The confessional single follows previous effort, “Gave It All Away”, which was aired on BBC 6Music and received online praises from Clash, Line of Best Fit, Indie Shuffle, EarMilk and MTV.
Go on, smooth over your Humpday; check out ‘Addict’.

Set to claim her rightful place as one of the music industry’s most exciting talents, Chloe released her new track ‘Change of Heart’ in January, featuring rising star Chiara Hunter. The soulful, dancefloor track has received praise from the likes of Clash, Wonderland and MTV and is the first cut taken from Chloe’s forthcoming second EP ‘Never Twice The Same’, a collaboration with some of the UK’s hottest up-and-coming female artists including Anne-Marie, Vanessa White and BB Diamond. Serving as the follow-up to her debut EP ‘Private Joy’, ‘Never Twice The Same’ is set to make some huge waves with its release in March.
As a self-taught producer and musician, it was her insanely popular remixes of tracks from the likes of Destiny’s Child, Sia, RÜFÜS, Janelle Monae and Pusha T that swiftly brought her onto the radar of established DJs and producers including Annie Mac and Snakehips, who she went on to support on tour alongside her own headline tours and sets at some of Europe’s largest festivals including Bestival, Open’er and Way Out. Chloe’s debut EP saw her garner support from the likes of Radio 1 and 1Xtra and tastemakers such as The 405, Majestic Casual and Eton Messy and amass millions of streams – alongside her highly sought-after remixes – across Soundcloud and Spotify.
Chloe’s most recent production credits include US soul duo VanJess’ next single and two of Vanessa White’s solo releases. Selected by Redbull Music Academy from tens of thousands of applications to join their September 2016 season in Montreal – which saw her collaborating with a range of other musicians such as Kaytranada and River Tiber and performing at a number of the city’s key venues – Chloe Martini continues to prove why she is set to be the name firmly on every music lover’s lips.
