EP Review: Brand New – Liam Bailey

I know it’s unorthodox to conclude an album at the beginning of the review, but I’m gonna do it anyway: if there’s a statement to sum up LIAM BAILEY‘s project, ‘Brand New’, it would be profoundly stunning.

From the atmospherically revitalising pieces, ‘Brand New’ and ‘I Lost My Way’ to a modern spin on old school soul/gospel delight, ‘Hold Tight’ and the guitar-drenched ‘Come Clean’, Bailey effortlessly delivers his compelling vocals, that’s so powerfully soulful which uplifts every single arrangement in the collection.

There’s talent and then there’s REAL TALENT; LIAM BAILEY definitely sits comfortably in the latter category. This guy is not to be messed with – check him out below:

New Track: Please Don’t Ever Settle Down – Dear Rogue

DEAR ROGUE‘s new deluxe edition of their album, ‘Phases’ ( CLICK HERE TO LISTEN), documents both the emotional depths Drew and Danielle McTaggart plumbed to come up with unflinchingly personal, honest material, and the ground they covered in their efforts to push themselves sonically and aesthetically. The deluxe version includes the original 10 songs of the album plus five new, previously unheard cuts.

With the release of the album, the duo includes an airy, echoing, minimalistic new single, ‘Please Don’t Ever Settle Down’, check it out below:

New Track: 24/7 – Kwaku (ft. Late Boomers Club)

After featuring on Spotify’s Fresh Finds, KWAKU returns with his mellow R&B/pop laden single‘24/7’, released last Friday (March 8th) via Tunecore. Featuring Late Boomers Club, KWAKU‘s brand new offering is tipped to be his best work to date.

After some encouragement from friends and family, the Boston-based singer/songwriter came onto the radar back in 2015 with his debut single, ‘That’s the Way’ –  and since then, he’s been unstoppable. His previous single ‘Fake’ received support from Spotify, being featured on playlists ‘Fresh Finds’ and ‘Fresh Finds: The Wave’.

Check out the slamming single below…and if you’re feeling this joint, the best is yet to come via his project, dropping later in the year.

Premiere: I Need You (video) – Violeta Skya

VIOLETA SKYA reveals some sultry visuals for her latest single, ‘I Need You’ today.

For this single, the Lithuanian born/London-based singer/songwriter exchanges her edgy trademark, featured in previous releases ‘Kiss Me’ and ‘Overload’, for a more delicate and almost atmospheric electro-pop soundscapes.

Released late last month, ‘I Need You’ is now available on all streaming/download sites…for now check it the video below – and remember, you saw it first on NEW LEASE MUSIC.

Album Review: New Soul – Gold Complex

It took three years for Canadian band GOLD COMPLEX to perfect and defined their sound for their latest album, ‘New Soul’.

The album introduces, what can be described as, alternative R&B with a luscious lick of funk featured through single, ‘Homegirl’ and goes on to flaunt between various bluesy/nu soul elements  working in unison with the occasional presence of progressive pop/rock with questionably a hint of EDM (heard in single, ‘Meant to Dance.’)

From what I can remember, ‘New Soul’ is a slight shift from their neo-soul-centred signature, displayed in their previous self-titled album. Although there’s more elements of contrasting tones, the arrangements are still as harmonic as ever – pull together by those killer soulful vocals.
