Hailing from New Jersey, JAI AGNISH‘s. His latest single, ‘Moment in Time,’ is drenched in atmospheric synths, drum machine beats, and subtle acoustic guitar. It calls to mind music by Air, Com Truise, and Sufjan Stevens.
Agnish wrote, performed, produced, and engineered the latest offering and teamed up with an old friend, Daniel Smith (Danielson, Sufjan Stevens), who mixed the song. The fellow Garden State dweller runs Familyre Studio and brought some psychedelia and smoothness to the project.
‘Moment in Time’ is the fourth single from Agnish since July and marks his continued foray into the world of DAWS and midi controllers. Lately, he has been constructing music from the synth up, which departs from earlier material that used the acoustic guitar as the primary compositional tool.
After being nominated as Best New Artist for ACAM Awards with his first three songs released in 2020, Costa Rica-based indie-pop singer JAVI JIMENEZ follows up with a rather melodically catchy tune titled, ‘Better Without U,’ a great introduction to his upcoming debut EP.
The singer worked alongside guitarist Alberto Álvarez, mixing their songwriting, guitar arrangements and production abilities to shape the songs into thought-out emotional pop songs that fit nicely in the libraries of fans of LANY or The 1975.
Speaking of the single, Javi says: “‘Better Without U’ is about that “fake it till you make it” attitude in getting over someone. When you’re in your most vulnerable and honest, at 3am, you admit you would do anything to get back to your loved one, but you feel like you could never show that, so you pretend you’re ok, you lie and say you’re better off. This lie escalates and, often, leads to harmful overcompensation trying to hook up constantly with whoever you can, ironically leaving you feeling even more alone in the end”

With rich, velvety vox ablaze amidst a sense of passion and playfulness, Toronto singer/songwriter MISS LIA‘s single ‘Animal Type’ captures the carnal charge around setting sights on who you want.
Written in Miss Lia’s unique fashion — a confident, inspired, spontaneous type of lyricism — the song’s origins are rooted in the pop-R&B artist’s penchant for emotionally-driven songwriting that pulls on both past experiences and in-the-moment feelings.
Speaking of the inspiration behind the sultry single, Miss Lia says: “For ‘Animal Type,’ I was getting ready to go out, and started ‘feeling myself’ — confident and sexy — like an empowered woman . The vibe just came to me… I was watching myself in the mirror and started singing the melody of the intro. I came up with the first verse and chorus at that moment, and left them unchanged.”
Looking to capture the classic ‘I need you’ feeling, Miss Lia uses ‘Animal Type’ to relate with those who find themselves suddenly overtaken by lust’s ‘I’ve got to have you’ impulse. While the song feels sensuous and provocative upon first listen, it’s Lia’s confidence and empowered spirit intertwined with each line that seeks to seduce the listener further.
Following previously unveiled singles, ‘Dangerous,’ ‘Lonely,’ and ‘Summersault,’ ‘Animal Type’ is the latest to land from Miss Lia. The multi-talented artist recently immersed herself in music, having spent the duration of Covid-related restrictions contemplating a fork in the road; having initially pushed aside her ambitions to pursue music, focusing on academics and athletics instead, Lia spent the time revisiting and rediscovering her passions for poetry and music, and the deep emotional connection it creates.

Lifted from her new seven-track album titled ‘Love hard’, California R&B singer SIMONE TELEASE presents single, ‘Do you?’ produced prod by Pdub The Producer.
Speaking of her latest release, Simone says: “This song is a tale of best friends turned lovers gone wrong. When I first began this project, I flew back home to Oakland, California. I was hoping to draw inspiration from this man I was madly in love with. This project was supposed to come from a good place. We were best friends turned lovers, and I just knew he would be my happily ever after.
We literally had been close friends since high school. He took me to my very first prom, and I had my very first slow dance with him. There was a lot of history there. A couple months later after I returned back to Atlanta, he ended up ripping my heart to shreds when He ghosted me and got a girlfriend. He didn’t even have the nerve to tell me, I had to find out through social media, and that’s what really broke my heart. So I texted him and told him goodbye forever and that at this point, we cant even be friends anymore..but, as much as I hate to say it, I still miss him, and I guess he will always have a special place in my heart.”
