Music Video: Figo – Tayfun

A myriad of strong influences taken from his Turkish background and unsettled upbringing make for the hard-hitting debut single ‘Figo’, from 20 year old, Tottenham based, TAYFUN.

The track, produced by SLVNG MAJOR and Patrick Osei (mastered by Chris Athens (Drake – Views), proves to be a real juxtaposition of cultures as TAYFUN details what life was like growing up in Tottenham over an echoing middle-eastern chorus that is accentuated by the genuine Turkish sounds of the saz guitar, played by the man himself. The rapper lays bare a previously troubled soul as his honest lyricism tells a captivating story. ‘Figo’ is paired with an equally compelling video and the cinematic visuals for his debut track comes courtesy of director Teeeezy C of Frankincense and Myrrh.

Growing up in a family that was well known for crime, TAYFUN slipped into a number of situations that made him question which path to choose. Biding his time, he made the decision to travel Europe where Tayfun found salvation in music and subsequently acknowledged it as his true destiny. As well as the pride in his Turkish heritage, TAYFUN is inspired to share his story and struggle with other young people, particularly the Turkish youth he feels will relate to him, and inspire them to fulfil their own destinies.

With an impressive debut and cultural influences that set him apart from other rappers in the emerging scene, 2017 is set to be a destination for this young emcee.

New Music Video: Lines – Franko Fraize (ft. Great Skies)

Taking you back to the days of old school garage raves, Reebok Classics and gold chains, FRANKO FRAIZE reveals the retro visuals to his latest single ‘Lines’, alongside Great Skies via his VEVO channel.

The blurry video captures the bright lights of London’s skylines and the essence of the night life that used to fill the city, while complementing the laid back garage style beat from Great Skies and Franko’s unmistakable vocal.

The track has generated support on BBC Introducing across Kent, Norfolk and Suffolk and Franko has just played a show with UKG legends Oxide & Nuetrino. He will also be performing in Ipswich, Swindon and Norwich at Tropico alongside Ghetts this month.

First broadcast by BBC Introducing in Kent, ‘Lines’ draws on influence from the UK electronic music scene and showcases Frankos’ vocal delivery over a melodic laid back beat from the Great Skies. The lyrics detail the exhilarating feeling of throwing shapes on a night out until everything starts to blur. Known as the “voice for the everyday”, he talks tales of everyday life that resonates across the board. His lyrics and presence are archetypally English and strike a chord with many a listener for their charm and wit.

With an E.P alongside Great Skies due for an imminent release, a massive collaboration in the pipeline and a wealth of support already behind him, FRANKO FRAIZE presents ‘Lines’.
