Mariam Davina shares breath-taking new single, ‘EVERYTHING’

MARIAM DAVINA‘s new single, ‘EVERYTHING’, is a heartfelt declaration about facing hardships in life but choosing to praise God through it all in every season. It serves as a reminder that while seasons change, God does not – he is the same yesterday, today and forever. His love, grace and strength is for us. It is a song of praise, spiritual growth and unwavering faith.

Mariam draws inspiration from artists such as Mary Mary, Kierra Sheard, Koryn Hawthorne and Ahjah Walls. Growing up leading worship and ministering regularly in church, this shaped her distinctive style, her confident stage presence and developed her vocals into the powerful sound she exhibits today.
Attending Elam, for college helped her solidify knowledge as an artist and in navigating the music industry.

‘EVERYTHING’ is available now across all leading streaming platforms.

Song of the Day: Eyesore – EMEREE

Following her well-received single, ‘Spring Cleaning’ – which reflects a personal journey of recovery after surviving domestic violence – Australian artist EMEREE is firmly on the road of self-empowerment. With her tongue-in-cheek single ‘Eyesore‘, she flips the narrative, offering a playful yet pointed anthem for anyone reclaiming their power after a toxic relationship. Through her music, EMEREE hopes to inspire others to rediscover their true selves and walk away stronger from whatever tried to break them.

Sprinkled with melodic pop tones and soulful soundscapes, ‘Eyesore’ delivers a strut-away-from-the-fire moment after dating someone who behave horribly towards you – but wasn’t not quite hot enough to get away with it. EMEREE’s fun, sugar-coated vocals drip with quick-witted sarcasm— influenced by her idol Amy Winehouse— transforms a sticky breakup into a liberating moment. It’s the kind of track where you look your ex dead in the eye and say, “It’s not me, it’s YOU.”

The pop art-inspired music video drives the message home: ‘Eyesore’ is a revenge anthem dressed in bubble gum pink—sweet on the surface, but with a sting that hits hard.

Championed by Australian radio staples, including Triple J and J Unearthed and having supported Australian heavyweights Thelma Plum, JACOTENE, and Budjerah, upon the release of her debut EP ‘Gold’, EMEREE (real name Gabrielle Emery) is beginning to make serious ripples in the UK since the release of ‘Spring Cleaning’. Named one of NME’s ‘Top 100 Artists to Watch of 2025’, EMEREE has graced the stage at The Great Escape and joined high-profile studio sessions with industry giants such as Invisible Men (Jessie J, Iggy Azalea) and Eg White (Adele).

EMEREE is more than a songbird with an impressive four-octave vocal range. Hailed as Splice’s ‘Top Producers to Watch’, her golden production touch has driven over 50 million Spotify streams, including Tyla Jane’s viral hit Energy, which landed major international syncs. She’s also in global demand as a songwriter; EMEREE has recently returned from the Anti Social Camp for songwriters in New York —where she was personally selected—and is soon heading into sessions with the legendary Nile Rodgers.

Now firmly on the radar, EMEREE steps boldly into her next chapter with ‘Eyesore’—a biting, empowering pop anthem that encourages women to walk away from dead-weight partners, with their heads held high.

A Quick Chat With…Peter Lord

Introducing – or should I say – reintroducing PETER LORD. He’s the founding member of the genre-defying collective The Family Stand who helped shape the sound of generations with genre-defiant classics like ‘Chain’, ‘Moon in Scorpio’, ‘Connected’, and the timeless anthem ‘Ghetto Heaven’.

Now the trailblazing artist makes a powerful return with ‘BOOM,’ the explosive first single from his long-awaited solo album, ‘Songs From The 8th Dimension’, set for release next month, 29th August.

NLM: Hey, thank you for taking part in an interview with NEW LEASE MUSIC. It’s such a pleasure having you here. How is 2025 treating you so far?

PL: 2025 has been excellent. I have reconnected with the musical/sonic side of my creative instincts. During the last decade plus I have been primarily focused on the film and TV/streaming projects that I have written and am developing.

NLM: You recently released your single, ‘BOOM’ (on 4th July)’. What is the public’s perception of the single so far?

PL: The reaction has been extremely positive and receptive. And I have truly appreciated the fact that despite my recent inactivity in the music world, my new project feels relevant, and has resonated with new audiences, in addition to those who knew my music before.

NLM: What inspired you to produce the single?

Well the single “Boom”, as was, as all the songs on the album, were part of a musical TV/Streaming series I’ve written called “Love Junkies.” While that long process is still underway to bring it to the screen, I felt these songs also stood up on their own and needed to be heard.

NLM: How would you describe the single’s sound to potential fans?

PL: I would say it’s an electric mix of modern music, with elements, of rock, hip hop, soul, “alternative pop’, grounded in story telling through song. It ties together one’s personal/emotional battles with those struggles going on in the world as a whole. Each of us often forget the lessons learned previously in our lives, as the world and various societies often do… and then everything goes “Boom.” – exploding, with consequences we subsequently have to deal with, and find hard to control.

NLM: Back in the 90s, you were with The Family Stand, which was one of the groups that helped re-shaped modern soul, R&B and hip-hop. How do you compare your sound now with The Family Stand?

PL: I would say the thematic elements are the same, in terms of the stories I want to tell, but sonically and creatively I refuse to stay stuck. I’m not trying to bring back the 90’s or early 2000’s. I am not trying to be nor am I “old school” anything.

NLM: What message would you like the listeners to take away from your single?

PL: No message. I only hope the listener resonates with what’s being said, lol and unsaid, and find their own “message” that serves them in a way that awakens their “higher self” and a deeper, truer, perception of themselves in this dimension of existence.

NLM: If you had to feature one mainstream artist on ‘BOOM’, who would it be and why?

PL: One of my musical heroes, one who just passed, Sly Stone, and my childhood creative north star, Stevie Wonder.

NLM: So what are your plans for the rest of the year?

PL: To support and put out my new album “Songs From The 8th Dimension.” Which will include putting out at least two more singles. I may even do a few “unplugged. performances” I’ll post on social media. And I will continue to work on my TV & Film projects.

NLM: How can potential fans contact you?

PL: The best place is INSTAGRAM.

NLM: Finally, if music did not exist, what profession would you do?

PL: I would be an ASTROPHYSICIST! Or pro pickleball player. F it BOTH! LOL

Song of the Day: Serious – Charli Rose

The harmoniously sparse backdrop, perfectly complementing the smooth acoustic guitar plucks, sets the stage for Australian singer-songwriter Charli Rose’s highly anticipated single, ‘Serious.’ The soothing instrumentation envelops listeners in a sense of self-love, empowerment, and acceptance.

Generally drawing inspiration by people’s lives as well as issues going on in the world, Charli began writing songs from the age of 11, in hope that her powerfully comforting messages provide a safe place for whoever needs an instant boost of encouragement. ‘Serious’ is the ideal snapshot of Charli as an artist; the indie pop single spans from her observation of the extreme measures that people take to seek approval from others. Among the soothing soundscapes, the 17 year-old’s equally harmonious vocals, which occasionally soars, carries a gentle reassurance that it’s OK just to be yourself. ‘Serious’ showcases Charli’s undeniable ability to curate a compelling story—an impressive feat beyond her 17 years. Her knack for painting vivid and emotionally rich narratives deservedly received recognition in the International and Unsigned Only music competitions, holding the semi-finalist title in both competitions in 2024.

‘Serious’ follows Charli Rose’s acclaimed debut EP, ‘Letters To Me’, and builds on the growing recognition the teenage artist has earned in an impressively short time. She was the winner of the WA Junior Country Artist of the year in 2023 and 2024, as well as a Top 5 finalist for WAM Song of the Year in 2023 for her single ‘Mirrors’ and a finalist again this year for ‘The Last Fairy’ in the 15-18 youth category.

Charli’s burgeoning music journey doesn’t stop at collecting accolades in quick succession. She has graced the stage at several different venues across her hometown in Perth, including the Optus Stadium, RAC arena and Symphony Under the Stars with the Perth Symphony Orchestra. Charli gears up for her performance at the Western Australian Music showcase on 20th July.

With her music journey in full motion, Charli’s latest offering is sure to resonate deeply with listeners from all walks of life, further strengthening her ever-growing fanbase. ‘Serious’ is out now out on your favourite music provider…why not have a listen below…
