New Music Video: Not Everything – Amun

Last month AMUN released ‘So Cold’, presenting flawless vocals, chic imagery and a hazy aura, which sparked the support of music tastemakers such as Twin B and DJ Ace, plus rapturous comments via the video debut on Link Up TV. Returning with the second track taken from her newly released EP, ‘Separate’, the 22-year-old British-Somali singer/songwriter immediately adds DJ Target to her ever-growing list of supporters as the premiere for latest single, ‘Not Everything’ makes for a boldly beautiful addition to her freshly unearthed music catalogue.

Born and raised in London AMUN has partnered with Perpetuity Music for the release of the EP, who have been responsible for numerous music acts now well established in the UK Urban scene. Each track on the EP portrays the lessons, experiences & childhood tales that many can relate to: ” ‘Not Everything’ is about being yourself, even if people don’t take you as you are, don’t change, just be yourself’ says AMUN describing her work.

New Track: Overload – Violeta Skya

Following her appearance with single ‘Kiss Me’, which is ranked at #8 on NEW LEASE MUSIC’s Top Ten Songs of 2017 list, VIOLETA SKYA returns with the first release of the year entitled ‘Overload’.

Over an edgy dance drive, the Lithuanian singer/songwriter explores the ups and downs of a relationship…and out of nowhere, drops a rather glamorous rap, which is a big surprise!

‘Overload’ is the first single from Violeta’s forthcoming EP, set for release at the end of the year/early 2019.

New Track: Sleep Walkers – Wolf Kash (ft. CHISARA)

Jordan and little brother Harry – aka alt-electronic music outfit – WOLF KASH released their brand new single ‘Sleep Walkers’, featuring the South London singer CHISARA.

The combination of a heavy bassline and uplifting chords creates a signature WOLF KASH single that can’t be pigeonholed to one genre, but that takes influence from electronic dance music and pop. The four-minute offering is complimented by a powerful and soulful vocal from CHISARA, having worked together previously on the single ‘Bleeding Time’.

Since releasing the pair debut EP and singles ‘Wasted Under Berlin Gate’ and BBC’s Huw Stephens championed track ‘Slow Burn’ in 2017, WOLF KASH have been making waves, taking part in the ‘48’ project with Foreign Beggars and Monster Florence. The collaborative LP was made from scratch in 48 hours, and in that time an album was made and live streamed via Facebook. In addition to the project, their occasionally join forces with middle brother Max to collaborate on various projects.

This one will definitely jumpstart your weekend…have a listen to ‘Sleep Walker’

EP Review: Je Ne Sais Quoi – Gemini Chris

The Jamaican DJ take us back, way back to the late eighties/early nineties where techno house was rife, with infectious thumps of electronic hooks, coupled with the underlying bass which somehow gives the arrangements that extra fire.

Although this London-residing beat maestro arguably takes heavy influences from notable electronic acts such as Derrick May (Strings of Life), 808 State and Shades and Rhythm, he adds his own magic to techno house of the aforementioned era, giving it that certain Je Ne Sais Quoi… check out his set below:

New Music Video: Letter Back – K Koke

Alongside the release of his 6 track EP ‘FFF PRISON’, which went straight in to the iTunes Hip-Hop chart at number one, K KOKE has dropped a new music video entitled ‘Letter Back.’

His EP takes us through a riveting journey of his time in prison, through his lyrics each song is trickled with a strong sense of self-realisation not just musically, but also personally. It is such a well-articulated account of the frustrations he feels as a man wrongly accused and having to face hard time. This EP takes it up a notch and takes a hard look at life from an inmate’s perspective and the effect it has on his family.

The harsh and restricting life of an inmate is really explored in this music video. ‘Letter Back’, as the name suggests, is a letter from a frustrated father to his family while he is in prison and missing all the core moment that make a dad, a dad. This video really tugs at the emotional heartstrings as it brings to life the inability for a man to see his child grow up. With visuals by Kye Taliana, the video has almost clocked 100,000 views in the few days since its release.

Featuring UK favourites Maverick Sabre, Dappy, Big French and Angel across the EP, to date FFF Prison has taken the Rap scene by storm. Charlie Sloth awarded ‘Letter Back’ with a prestigious record of the week across Radio 1. Now with the release available across all outlets and performing at the top of its genre, it’s clear to see K KOKE still has a compelling influence on the UK Rap game.
