Rapper Teddy Reiss Goes On A Grind In Brand New Track ‘Lowkey’

TEDDY REISS‘ brand new single,‘ Lowkey’ gives an insight into his life experience, where he describes as being ‘in a season of hard work before seeing it pay-off fruitfully.’

His direct and powerful lyricism is met with a distinctive guitar riff over a heavy dose of bouncy hip-hop/trap and melodic synths. With a heavy focus on work ethic, ‘Lowkey’ serves as a motivating anthem for the hard-workers who are on a grind every single day.

Born and raised in South East London, in a very musical and religious family, Teddy initially wanted to be an accountant and went to university to study ACCA. After the course put him off accounting, he quickly found his new passion in music.

He wastes no time and started a social enterprise called Rap Association C.I.C, using rap as a tool to educate, entertain and empower the local community. After facilitating rap workshops and producing custom rap songs for corporate events, Teddy turned his hand to songwriting and at that point, he decided to forge a rap career. To further his knowledge in music, Teddy went on to study Music Industry Practice – Creative Artistry at ACM Birmingham. He received the ACE Scholarship in 2019.

Since receiving his ACE Scholarship, Teddy Reiss has produced a mixtape and has worked with UK’s promising underground artists, R&B singer Cherri V, rappers Triple O, Funky DL and Luxury Reem.

A regular performer at various open mics across London, Teddy Reiss hits the studio, creating an ode for the hard-grinders, who are waiting to see the fruits of their labour, through single ‘Lowkey’, out from 10th March on all good music platforms.

Song of the Day: Dependent On You – Fortte

17-year-old Brazilian singer/songwriter and producer FORTTE‘s, latest single, ‘Dependent on You’, addresses the issue
of emotional dependence on friendships and exposing the artist’s deepest insecurities over an intriguing mix between synth-pop, electro-pop, and alternative R&B.

‘Dependent on You’, with Influences that range from Macintosh Plus to Ariana Grande, was born when Fortte heard one of the instrumentals he made on his smartphone and decided to create a melody to it and write about the feelings that surrounded his mind at the time. The result couldn’t be different: an intimate track with melancholic lyrics, but with powerful vocals and a brilliant production.

About the song lyrics, Fortte says: “I wrote this track hoping that other people could relate with what I felt, it is horrible to feel alone. An emotional dependence on someone, even on a friend, can really f*** up your whole mind. I wonder why no one talks about it..?”

After introducing himself in 2021 with the trap-infused single ‘Night’, Fortte is ascending as a rising artist in pop music. The teenager has been singing since his childhood, in the churches his parents used to attend. Also, he grew up in an extremely musical environment. Now, at 17 years old, Fortte writes his own lyrics and produces his own songs in an exceptional way – using an android phone and his microphone…have a listen to ‘Dependent on You’ below…

Song of the Day: Some Kind Of Quiet – ANDY ETC.

ANDY ETC.’s debut single, ‘Some Kind Of Quiet’, is a hazy pop ballad with heartfelt lyrics with highly emotive melody. In style of mellow artists such as Joji, James Blake, Sampha and Jeremy Zucker, the song is somewhat a lullaby for his girlfriend who has trouble sleeping.

He further explains of his single: “I think many people can relate to having a hard time finding peace of mind when the lights go out and you are alone with your thoughts. The criterion for success in the song is not necessarily falling asleep, but to just finding some sort of peace in each other’s arms.”

Hailing from Denmark, ANDY ETC. was the frontman for the Danish Sony-signed pop duo De Dødelige, who particularly made a name for themselves on Danish radio. Since then, he has written a string of songs other artists, been No. 1 on the charts in China, Korea and Japan, sold one and a half million physical CD’s in Asia and achieved more than 600 million streams world wide.
