Song of the Day: You Get Me – Vaness

The soaring guitar riffs and the powerful vocal performance sums of the message behind VANESS‘ single ‘You Get Me’ – to be being loud, larger than life and most importantly, to be truthful to oneself. The single also is a tip of the hat for those – whether it’s a close friend or the one – who embrace all that personality.

Typically I write from experience, but this song was conjured by my idea of the perfect partner,” says Vaness. “I haven’t met this person yet, but they can use ‘You Get Me’ as a blueprint.”

BeKreative Drops First Banger Of The Year, ‘Still’

Coming all the way from Houston, singer/rapper BEKREATIVE pipes up for 2021 with another note for the lovers entitled ‘Still.’

Bekreative’s gritty flow (think ol’ dirty bastard) gives the ultra smooth quite storm production that extra fire, all brought together by pulsating skips of the b-line.

‘Still’ follows his 2020 single, ‘Slow Jamz’. This is a really hot one! Why not check it out below…

Song of the Day: Give Thx – Joss Bari

As this is the day for reflection and gratitude, I thought I would share with you JOSS BARI‘s second single, ‘Give Thx’.

Sporting a laid-back (almost) afterhours vibe with sporadic electrifyingly tones, which gives the whole production some added spice, ‘Give Thx’ could be described as kind of a gospel song, where the French soul crooner express his gratitude for music being his saving grace.

Check out the music video for ‘Give Thx’ below. The track will form part of his upcoming debut album, ‘French Lova’, a melodic collection of hip-hop and contemporary R&B.

Song Of the Day: The In Between – Favourite Daughter

FAVOURITE DAUGHTER‘s latest single, ‘The In Between’, is far cry from her previous wonderfully chaotic offering, ‘Long Distance, which chronicles losing control of your feelings.

Positioned in a guitar-led intimate setting, ‘The In Between’ is about meeting someone you really like and the cocktail of feelings encountered when taking the dating phase to the next stage – the anticipation of happiness, the anxiety of having to stay in the moment, and the fear of being vulnerable with someone new and getting hurt.

Speaking of her single, the Montreal singer-songwriter says: I wrote The In Between a few weeks after meeting my partner. I was adamantly single and had every intention to remain that way, but of course love always finds you when you’re not looking, and I found myself terrified at how quickly I was falling for her. I wanted to strip this song back to its bare essentials and make it feel as intimate as possible, so the listener feels like they’re the only person in the room.
