Steven Christopher Delivers His New Video For ‘In My Head’

STEVEN CHRISTOPHER‘s music video for his single ‘In My Head’ feature his friends and R&B/pop singer himself storm Area 51, causing a little chaos along the way…

Taking off on a road trip in search of aliens, the group eventually find exactly what they’re looking for. The video’s concept of alien abduction plays on the song’s lyrics about being a loner and feelings of not fitting in.

Speaking of the latest visual, Steven says: “When writing the treatment, I tried to think of another way to express a sometimes dark but very real desire to get away besides the obvious. Being a Sci-Fi nerd, the idea of being taken to an entirely new galaxy seemed a lot more interesting.”

The video is Steven’s first stab at directing along with frequent collaborator Joey Lopez…check it out below…

Album Review: Dream Team: A Stokely Hathaway Joint – Griff/Scorcese

GRIFF/SCORCESE‘s latest project, ‘Dream Team: A Stokely Hathaway Joint’ serves as a time machine, possessing  mainly hazy boombap tones and, at times, a menacing b-line (mafia -style) inspired by the golden hip-hop era of the late eighties/early nineties.

In parts, the mammoth album leaves the nostalgic feeling  and goes bang up to the date. ‘Slick Talk’ could be described as a union of old school and new school hip-hop, with a real slick flow that (personally) uncannily resembles the likes of Jay-Z.

Towards the end of the set, the guys gets all experimental with the genre, through ‘It’s Personal (Lucky Lefty)’ for example, where the distorted guitar riffs create a sound that’s disorientating yet soothing.

So if you fancy taking a journey with hip-hop through the years, well ‘Dream Team: A Stokely Hathaway Joint’ is your perfect guide…let me tell you; this is one bada** set. Check it out below…

Song of the Day: Remember – LA Sabree (ft. Adonai)

‘Remember’ is LA SABREE’s attempt at a love song. Growing up, LA recalls most of his favorite hip-hop albums containing a romantic record or two specifically for female listeners to vibe to. During a listening session, his friend told him he was missing that exact type of song. Ever the perfectionist, Sabree vowed to make it happen.

Once he heard the beat by Producer GHXST, he sought out to bring the idea to fruition. However, he ended up creating something else entirely…

‘Remember’ is an anthem for men reminiscing about their old flames – and more importantly and specifically that woman it just didn’t work out with despite everything lining up like it would. In the record, LA SABREE recounts the vibes, moments and conversations he had with a girlfriend who professed her love for him. By the end all he has left are the pictures in his phone.

‘Remember’ is available on all major streaming platforms…check it out below..
