Song of the Day: Get Into The Party Life – Lion Babe

After the 2018 tease of singles, ‘Honey Dew’ and ‘The Wave’, singer/songwriter Jillian Hervey and producer Lucas Goodman – aka LION BABE – recently confirmed their anticipated new album Cosmic Wind, set for release this Friday (March 29th).

Cosmic Wind is a follow-up to their 2016 critically acclaimed debut album, ‘Begin’ and comes on the heels of a very strong 2018 for the band, earmarked by live performances at Coachella’s main stage, and AFROPUNK festival. They ended the year with two reimagined covers for Carly Simon’s classic ‘Why’ and Little Beaver’s ‘Get Into The Party Life’ which are growing rapidly in streams.

So here’s your chance to check out the New York duo’s take on ‘Get Into The Party Life’.

New Track: Mini Van (Da Baby Remix) – A1

Usually, A1 is the smooth operator of underground hip-hop –  but this time, the NYC spitter put some serious grit and heat on DaBaby’s x Blocboy JB’s banger entitled ‘Mini Van’.

EP Review: The Flux Session – Any Gama

New York’s Jazz Fusion Group ANY GAMA makes no apologies for what they stand for and jam out their own pieces as well as leaving a distinct mark on classics through their latest EP entitled, ‘The Flux Session.’

Led and founded by Israeli pianist Roni GBZ Jr, ANY GAMA gives a rather upbeat introduction through ‘Running Away’ where the bold and the flirtatious trumpets takes the limelight with raciness yet elegant presence of the piano keys providing the perfect bluesy backdrop.

While more of their original pieces such as ‘Boredom of a Friday’s Afternoon’ and ‘Softly Touching’ provides the stunningly tranquil side of the collection, the epic moment (personally) lies with their interpretation of David Bowie’s ‘Space Oddity’, a  tranquil piano-led piece, in which the trumpets gives an euphoric build up while not straying too far away from the 70s classic.

This instrumental EP does very well without utilising any vocals, as each instrument in all the arrangements take their place to convey the message that’s more prominent than any spoken word.

New Track: 24/7 – Kwaku (ft. Late Boomers Club)

After featuring on Spotify’s Fresh Finds, KWAKU returns with his mellow R&B/pop laden single‘24/7’, released last Friday (March 8th) via Tunecore. Featuring Late Boomers Club, KWAKU‘s brand new offering is tipped to be his best work to date.

After some encouragement from friends and family, the Boston-based singer/songwriter came onto the radar back in 2015 with his debut single, ‘That’s the Way’ –  and since then, he’s been unstoppable. His previous single ‘Fake’ received support from Spotify, being featured on playlists ‘Fresh Finds’ and ‘Fresh Finds: The Wave’.

Check out the slamming single below…and if you’re feeling this joint, the best is yet to come via his project, dropping later in the year.
