RVDICAL THE KID LINKS UP WITH AMAARAE FOR NEW SINGLE ‘NASA’, ANNOUNCES SOPHOMORE EP ‘LITTLE PLANET’

With over two million streams under his belt, critical acclaim and support from the likes of Pigeons & Planes, FACT Magazine, Soulection, Indieshuffle, BandCamp and The Native Magazine, as well as recent production credits for rising stars such as Amaarae, Tems, Maesu, and Nonso Amadi, Beninois-Ghanaian producer, DJ and artist RVDICAL THE KID has unveiled his long-awaited Carte Blanche follow-up and highly anticipated sophomore project titled Little Planet.

To be released via Platoon this Friday (14th August), Rvdical’s Little Planet EP is backed by his new single ‘Nasa’, which features Ghanaian songstress and producer AMAARAE, who has been having a breakthrough year of her own, with recent support from Apple Music, The FADER, NPR and Hypebeast, among others. ‘Nasa’ marks the fourth joint effort from the two frequent collaborators Rvdical and Amaarae, who have been working together since 2017.

Speaking about the inspiration behind ‘Nasa’, Rvdical The Kid says: “It is a fun record I made with nothing particular in mind other than the pursuit of the exhilarating feeling of creating. The process of creating the record almost felt like an acid trip, flowing through synths, drums and foley that carefully landed me on a very ethereal and spacey and beat. My love for contrast and juxtaposition informed the almost obnoxious pitch screwed bass that drives the entire record”.

Song of the Day: Type 0 – Gear

Jumping into today’s hot spot is U.S. alt-rapper/producer GEAR and his rampant track entitled ‘Type-0’, his first release with label Potent Funk.

Hailing from Dallas, GEAR is a multi-talented artist who creates rap inspired by a smorgasbord of electronic genres.

Throughout his younger years, GEAR discovered a large realm of styles in deep corners of the internet. They included grime, industrial, dubstep, drum & bass, and more. His sound is the pounding product of these influences.

Mr. Williamz & Top Cat Are ‘Rocking Style’ With Brand New Reggae Joint

Bringing on the UK heat, British Reggae legend, MR WILLIAMZ has linked up with TOP CAT for sizzling joint ‘Rocking Style’.

With his roots stemmed in West London, home of the world-famous Notting Hill Carnival, Mr Williamz is known by fans the globe over as an original sound system toaster, and whilst the world is unable to descend on his doorstep to soak in and celebrate the British Caribbean community and Black British Culture this year, he ensures that the vibes are still being delivered with the new release.

The second single from his forthcoming album ‘Soundkilla Mindset’ that is due for release in September, ‘Rocking Style’ unites Mr Williamz with award-winning, chart topping Mancunion MC, Top Cat. Excelling in their artistry individually, the duo bring their experience together, packed with versatility and charisma for the contemporary joint.

Introducing ‘Soundkilla Mindset’ with the release of previous single ‘Lyrics Collection’, the two singles set the tone of the album. Song of the Day: Doesn’t Feel Like – JYellowL

Following on from ‘Jewels’ – which saw support from Spotify’s New Music Friday UK & We Move – Irish Rapper JYELLOWL delivers his next single, ‘Doesn’t Feel Like’

Born to Jamaican and Nigerian parents and raised in Ireland, the Dublin-based rapper has drawn on all three origins to create a distinctly powerful sound that is radically individual. ‘Doesn’t Feel Like’ summarises his experience moving to Ireland as an African immigrant in just 3minutes, 42 seconds.

JyellowL recalls “This song is about my experience as an African immigrant in the western world. I came to Ireland when I was in my early teens and it was the first time I was made conscious of my racial and cultural difference. The first time I experienced racism, covert and blatantly overt. The first time I met people who hated me because of my race and wanted to cause me bodily harm as a result. The first time I met people who truly believed they were my superior because of my skin colour. The first time that my character was judged based on the actions of groups of people, whom I shared nothing in common with but complexion, and faced the physical consequences in some instances. Those experiences I faced coupled with the historic injustice faced other black people all over the western world, made me feel like I didn’t belong here. They say home is where the heart is, but I found it very difficult to place my heart somewhere that I was regularly reminded was not my ‘actual’ home.”

‘Doesn’t Feel Like’ is the second single to be taken from his forthcoming debut LP 2020 D|VISION. Check out the official video for single below…
