Song of the Day: Light Work – CRSWHT

I suspect you guys had a tiring week, dying for your weekend to start with a bang. That’s why I’ve decided to leave you in the very capable hands of Chris Whyte – aka CRSWHT – and his track, ‘Light Work’. The New York spitter certainly makes light work of this seriously hard banger by slamming down a mindblowingly swift flow.

If this guy is not on your radar, well he should be! Check him out below…

Song of the Day: Crying (Cover) – KYŁO

Hailing from Toronto, KYŁO‘s cover of Roy Orbison’s ‘Crying’ is hardly recognizable to the original. She adds a sultry and melancholic vibe to the 60’s classic paired with chillingly faint vocals. Have a listen below:

Song of the Day: Love Yourself First – Fifi Rong

Tapping into the emotional energy of our current climate, Avant pop singer/songwriter FIFI RONG‘s single, ‘Love Yourself First’ toys with themes of self-doubt and inner-confidence with its moving production and faint, tender lyrics that are sung in both Chinese and English, expressing Fifi’s multicultural heritage.

“This song acts as a reminder to the indestructible truth we all know deep down, but often neglect in these uncertain times of the world,” Fifi says about the single.

Self-produced, written and recorded by Fifi herself, ‘Love Yourself First’ — along with previous singles — ‘Distance’ and ‘Love Is A Lonely Thing’, will feature on forthcoming LP There’s A Funeral In My Heart For Every Man I Loved, a record that further looks to explore the deeper tropes of the human condition through a collection of unrequited love stories.

Watch JyellowL’s Jewels Video

Following the single release of ‘Jewels’, Dublin rapper JYELLOWL reveals the official music video.

Born to Jamaican and Nigerian parents and raised in Ireland, the Dublin-based rapper has drawn on all three origins to create a distinctly powerful sound that is radically individual.

Speaking on ‘Jewels’, JyellowL explains “Jewels is a celebration of our multifaceted nature, as well as the complexity of the human condition. It’s about recognising our worth and understanding that we are all inherently valuable and that our value may just manifest itself in different realms.”
