Song of the Day: Out Of Sight (Out Of Mind) – Francesca Louise

London-based singer/songwriter FRANCESCA LOUISE‘s single, ‘Out of Sight (Out of Mind)’ is her most exposing song from her latest EP, ‘Melancholic Antidote’, a collection of personal experiences, life lessons, emotions and growth.

Straight to the point, the ‘Out of Sight (Out of Mind)’ is about becoming dependent on love and the denial of feelings due to the fear of vulnerability and potential heart-break. It touches on insecurities of giving your heart to someone else and the risks and dangers that are involved in being transparent with your feelings for another person.

Originally from Liverpool, Louise has seen success having supported the likes of Nashville based indie folk-rock duo The Harmaleighs, brit-pop band Echobelly at St Pancras Old Church in London and Juanita Stein, the former singer of Howling Bells. With radio plays and live sessions with BBC Introducing and independent radios alike, as well as taking festival slots in 2020, Francesca Louise is making her way up the musical ladder and is showcasing her capabilities across the UK.

Bby Ivy Drops New Single, ‘One Touch’

Unlike previous boisterous tracks, ‘Sweet Like Honey’, ‘Rewind’ and ‘U Got It Bad’, BBY IVY comes through with something a little more chilled, forming her self-penned offering, ‘One Touch’, which displays the struggle of prioritizing her music career over a relationship with that special one.

Jeffrey James Shares ‘Aftermath’ Video

Nashville-based musician JEFFREY JAMES unveils the official music video for his new single, ‘Aftermath’. Working within the creative confines of lockdown, Jeffrey pieced together home footage of himself and his wife in Trouville-sur-Mer in Normandy, France. A sweet, authentic glimpse into James’ own love story, the video brings the romance of the piano-driven ballad to new heights.

The new video comes on the heels of Jeffrey James’ appearance on NBC’s Songland, where Jeffrey worked with Ryan Tedder on an original track titled ‘We Could Be Heroes’ for Country legend Martina McBride.

Earlier this year, Jeffrey released his ‘East London’ EP. Recorded in London with engineer Geoff Swan (Charli XCX, Ed Sheeran, Coldplay) and producers Jackson Dimiglio-Wood (Shawn Mendes), Dan Weller (SikTh), and Dan McDougal (Liam Gallagher), the 5-track record beautifully fuses Jeffrey’s Nashville influences with the UK’s blue-eyed soul sounds.

Song of the Day: High – Gillian

The first tease from her full-length album, ‘3AM’, singer/songwriter GILLIAN‘s new single, ‘High’, is a delightful piano-driven pop ballad with a very poignant message on the horrors of addiction.

Gillian says of her latest release: “The song took true emotions I was feeling in a relationship and created a story with them. It’s about how addiction can affect a relationship.”

Gillian treats her music as a conduit for truth. Whether behind the piano or with a guitar in hand, the Boston-based artist chronicles life’s ups and downs, ebbs and flows, and trials and tribulations with thoughtful clarity, poetic eloquence, and a stirring soulful voice. Documenting the dissolution of a relationship, confronting the pains of addiction, or facing loneliness, she confidently conveys unbridled emotion with wisdom that belies her 16 years of age.

Gillian made her introduction last year with the independent release of her debut EP, ‘Unfiltered’. The lead single, ‘What It Felt Like’, impressively tallied 200K Spotify streams. 2020 is set to be another banner year for Gillian as she heads towards the release of her album, 3AM, due for release this Summer.

Isaac B Returns With Single, ‘Love Yourz’, Off Upcoming EP ‘Chances Ocean’

Following his appearance on the blog with the video for single ‘SNE HNE’ – which bagged the Music Video of the Month title back in December –  transatlantic MC, ISAAC B returns with single, ‘Love Yourz’, a thoughtful and inspiring number which reflects on life’s struggles and growth in self-love and perseverance.

Isaac B says “I wrote ‘Love Yourz’ in a sunken place, without direction I battled myself, but found hope in my fellow artistic comrades and collective communities. The track title intends to pay homage to ourselves, “Love Yourz” – It’s a celebration for everyone, everywhere. This time here, is just the beginning of our journeys, while we manifest the fruits of our labour to come.”

Cutting his teeth in the Florida rap cypher scene, Isaac B developed a knack for his spontaneous freestyle wizardry, often venting frustration at humanities systematic behaviours. Influenced by Xxxtentacion, YBN Cordae and Kojey Radical, the dual-heritage artist moved to the UK in 2013 where he now fronts the biggest Underground Hip-Hop nights in South London with his collective And What? Ldn.

Unpretentious and poetic in its delivery, ‘Love Yourz’ sets the tone, with its lyrically charged hooks and melodic instrumentation, for his upcoming EP,‘Chances Ocean’, due for release this summer. Have a listen below…
