New Music Video: Think Of Me – Jeorgia

Vocal powerhouse JEORGIA delivers stripped-back sultry vocals in her retrospective single ‘Think Of Me’. Reflecting on the turmoil of past relationships JEORGIA delves into an introspective mind-set as she reiterates the million-dollar question; does he still ‘Think Of Me’.

Her emotive vocals echo through the depths of the track, which is laced with a crisp yet delicate tone that showcases her fine tuned vocal range. The stripped back, piano-led instrumental remains the backdrop of the track and the isolation of her vocals creates a sense of vulnerability, yet a strong sense of strength rises through as her compelling tone is given the space to shine.

JEORGIA‘s incredible vocal ability is unquestionable and the south London native was the one of the first artists to be signed to the recently created Amy Winehouse Management. Having built a loyal following via the release of standout YouTube covers, she also received recognition on Link Up TV where she performed her own renditions of Adele’s ‘Someone Like You’ on the hugely popular ‘Behind Barz’ series.

Music is the catalyst that fuels JEORGIA’s creativity and her stunning voice harbours her passion for the art. Delving into the realities of moving on and heartbreak ‘Think Of Me’ paints the perfect picture

New Track: Range Rover – Sub Blue

Liverpool’s most exciting Alt-R&B prospect, SUB BLUE, shares another slice of his life with ‘Range Rover’, produced by Xamvolo.

Taking his name from his self-described style of music, “suburban blues”, SUB BLUE offers a fresh take on chilled out, alternative introspective R&B. Following up his hypebeast inspired debut ‘Hype Like Supreme’, the Merseyside based singer-songwriter delivers another scene setting song – giving a further insight into his world. The visual to ‘Hype Like Supreme’ currently holds the blog’s Music Video of the Month title.

‘Range Rover’ features Sub Blue’s velvety smooth vocals over moody production as he laments on the challenges that him and his peers experience trying to make sense of their world where perception is often more important than truth and happiness is often represented by superficial things.

‘Range Rover’ is the first song taken from his forthcoming EP, ‘Suburban View’, which delves into these themes even more. The EP is produced by the likes of Sir Dylan (Weeknd, Solange, Logic), A.V (Frank Ocean) and XamVolo, and is a glimpse at the life of teens trying to find their place in the world, while navigating peer and social pressure and trying to define their own voice.

Album Review: LFTP Season Vol.1 – 3Bubble & J. Gray

Following the release of their critically acclaimed album ‘Pentagon Memoirs’ (2016) – which sits at a well deserve place at number four on NEW LEASE MUSIC’s Top Ten Albums of 2016 list –  I have a very strange feeling that 3BUBBLE & J. GRAY are going to create just as much buzz (if not more) with their brand new album ‘LFTP ‘ Season Vol.1’.

Unlike ‘Pentagon Memoirs’ which boasts summer-ready anthems, ‘LFTP Season Vol.1’ predominately adopts a laid back vibe of old school soul, a tingling sensation that the nine-track set introduces with ‘Vibin’ where the alluring contribution of the saxophone adds that magical touch.

Just in case you’re wondering what ‘LFTP’ stands for – it’s Live From The Pentagon – the name of their label. Like their previous albums, they showcase some of the most promising recruits, such as RAGS and King Kelechi, coming from their hometown Houston – and they’re on a serious mission to bring back old school/golden hip-hop through track ‘LFTP Squad’.

Further along, ‘How Long’ respectfully interrupts the laid-back/retro flow and brings the collection right up to date with its bold, counter rhythmic loop reverberating through the piece. Returning to its original theme, the album finishes off with their prominent tale of life struggles. ‘Leave Me Now’ gives a glimpse into the darkest hours of loneliness and their increasingly mistrust in friends around them.

Like its predecessor,  ‘LFTP Season Vol.1’ is an instantly likeable set; so infectious that it has a strong potential in making it the blog’s next album of the year list and beyond. Check it out below:

Song of the Day: Gold Fir – Sirens

Following the runaway success of, ‘Night Walk’, GOLD FIR satisfies the demand for soulful sassy vibes with, ‘Sirens’, the follow-up single out via +1 Records.

The emerging London duo saw a huge response to their debut offering, which was accompanied by a vibrant 2D animated video produced by Rejjie Snow collaborator Jack Brown. With repeat plays across BBC Radio 1, 1Xtra, 6 Music, Triple J and Beats 1, as well as support online from i-D, DIY, Hunger, London In Stereo and a run in the Hype Machine popular chart, Spotify, Apple Music, Vevo and Bandcamp also came out in support of ‘Night Walk’ with heavy playlisting and homepage features alike.

New track ‘Sirens’ demonstrates the duo’s fierce ingenuity. A track “about welcoming different aspects of yourself to the dance floor” – elements of pop and 80’s devil-may-care are all present, and delivered in a neat package.

Simply known as James and Mabel, the pair’s eccentric, soulful sound is inspired by their favorite places, friends and films. With plans for a debut EP early in 2018, the duo prove now more than ever that genre is meaningless, but the right music will always be full of soul…have a listen to ‘Sirens’.

New Music Video: Hype Like Supreme – Sub Blue

Electronic soul/ R&B newcomer SUB BLUE released a visual to accompany new single ‘Hype Like Supreme’.

Speaking of the new production he says: “The aim here was to simply show the blurred lines between hype and true love. It’s another flip on the chorus lyrics. This culture is real – its pretty much the same level of infatuation and emotion that you would usually equate to love or a mad crush”

‘Hype Like Supreme’ is the first track taken from his new EP, out in 2018. It was produced by British soul artist and producer XamVolo.

SUB BLUE grew up in the suburbs of Merseyside in the North of England. He was named the first ever ‘One to watch’ by Liverpool International Music Festival’s Academy, he was just leaving school at the time. Since then he’s been honing his sound with local talent including XamVolo, Teesoulful and SPXKEN and putting the final touches to his debut EP.
